All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings Off-Season Thread

That cut might be the lesson he needed to learn 🤷‍♂️. He won’t be unemployed long, methinks🤔
They call you Nostradamus.

He signed a 1-year deal for $4M today with BAL. He can also earn an extra $2M in incentives but he cost himself a ton of cash.

Shocker it didn’t tame shedeur long to make the news again

Guy is an idiot from an idiot family.

Someone should show him(and all of Georgia's football team) the speech Henry Ruggs just gave at the Hope for Prisoners event where he talked about killing a young woman while he was driving 156 mph/s. Driving in excess of 100 mph is way more dangerous than driving drunk, yet these idiots think it is a big joke.

Smart start mn.com. You need to drive. You have to drive. The state has to let you drive.

Daunte chimes in:

Former Vikings QB Daunte Culpepper says J.J. McCarthy will be "a master"

The man responsible for one of the greatest quarterback seasons in Minnesota Vikings history is effusive about the team's future at the position.

Daunte Culpepper recently sat down with WCCO's Mike Max and gave his thoughts about J.J. McCarthy, the first-round pick set to take the reins in 2025.

"I saw him at practice last week and he looks great," Culpepper said. "He has that it factor, I always say, he has it. And I can see it in his eyes, he's ready to go out and tear it up."

McCarthy is the highest drafted QB in Vikings history — 10th overall, one pick higher than Culpepper was taken in 1999. Expectations are high for the sophomore passer, who missed his entire rookie season due to injury. He steps into a great situation with a rebuilt offensive line, one of the game's best playcallers in head coach Kevin O'Connell and a dangerous suite of skill players, including all-world receiver Justin Jefferson.

"I think it won't be a hard transition for him in the NFL," Culpepper said. "As long as we keep him healthy and keep him off the ground, with those weapons around him, I see great things."

Skol Vikes!!

The Athletic, listing the Vikings as one of the offseason "Winners", along with 4 other teams;

>>"A storybook season featuring an unlikely hero in quarterback Sam Darnold ended in dramatic disappointment, with a loss to the Rams in the wild-card round. Darnold signed with the Seahawks during free agency, but Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah still has positioned his team for a prompt rebound — possibly in the form of an NFC North title.

The Vikings invested heavily in the trenches in free agency, signing defensive tackles Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave and offensive linemen Ryan Kelly, Will Fries and Justin Skule, while adding veterans at other key positions. The Vikings also used early draft picks on Ohio State guard Donovan Jackson and Maryland wide receiver Tai Felton. Young quarterback J.J. McCarthy, after missing his rookie season with a torn meniscus, finds himself surrounded by a fantastic supporting cast as he prepares to take over as starter."

Some awesome classic Chris Carter catches on this clip. Give it a watch, it's the only football you're going to get for another several weeks

One thing that stands out to me about that highlight reel is that Carter made one handed catches when he HAD to. There is an epidemic these days of WR's trying to make one handed catches when they could use two hands, but one handers make highlights.

It’s about time for a JJ (qb) is ready to play article.
He was so darn good in that preseason game last year including making all the throws required of an NFL QB.

There must be a ton of pressure on him knowing the rest of the roster is quite stacked and ready to win now. I'm also really excited to see how the upgraded OL is going to look and impacts our running game.

If it's not the best, it's certainly way up there. If that OL stays healthy, it's hard to envision a way the Vikings don't have a very, very good season.

If the Indy FAs and Darrisaw are 100% healthy, I think it's highly likely they're at least Top 5 in the NFL. How nice would it be to have an OL that pushes the LOS forward on running plays?

Yeah some of the predictions I've seen for the Vikings make no sense to me. I've seen predictions of 6-8 wins. I get there's uncertainty with JJM, but if the team stays healthy, he won't have to do a lot.

I've said it before, call me crazy, but I think this team could win 9-10 games with Sam Howell. I think that much of KOC's playcalling and the offensive personnel and of Howell honestly.

I think that’s an easy over bet -especially as last year’s class featured some excellent production.

Always look pretty much at only opposing QBs a team will be facing and while there are some good ones, I think it's favorable for the Vikings.

Good luck on any of your wagers

I generally don't like futures bets, money just sitting out there for 6+ months, but it's never a lot so I do have a few already, only because I'm bullish on the Vikings

- Vikings to win the NFC North
- Vikings to be Top 2 in the NFC North
- Vikings to make the playoffs
- Vikings to win NFC Championship
- Bears to finish 4th in the NFC North

If I could find a number, I would HAMMER any Over on Rush TDs for Jordan Mason. I think he'll be called on at the goal line for the Vikings more than Aaron Jones, and be more effective.

SKOL!!!

Kwesi hasn't gotten nearly enough credit for the Mason trade. Tremendous acquisition for mere peanuts and a perfect complement to Jones.

This interesting. Trenches expert predicts Vikes to have 5th - 7th best oline and 10th - 12th best dline.
Would be a huge improvement from recent seasons.
