All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

That was a screen to the left. That ball was supposed to be out quickly.

It was meant to be unblocked.

The double-clutch is what did him in. The rusher on the opposite jumped up to block the screen pass, JJM had to pull it back down for a second and he was f*cked.

If it's jumped, you throw it in the dirt and live for another play.

It was a learning moment.

DO NOT WIN ON THURSDAY

DO NOT WIN ON THURSDAY

DO NOT WIN ON THURSDAY

You will drop again in the draft (12 to 15 yesterday), you will give up the last place schedule next year, and you will put the packers in the playoffs.

There is nothing good to come out of a win. Therefore, I predict they will win.

With that confidence I trust you will load up on the Vikings Money Line, +210. It's a no lose proposition for you.

Vikings don't care about the Draft. They care about winning football games and this Vikings fan want them to win and i don't care about the draft.

I really don't think there are a lot of holes on this roster. They need some bodies in the secondary and likely a new Center (assuming Kelly doesn't return and they don't see Jurgens as the answer).

They need good health next year more than anything. If they stay put in the 1st round, regardless of where they end up picking, more than likely either Downs, the OSU Safety, or one of the top two CB's will be available and would really bolster the secondary

Everyone says we need to bolster the secondary yet the secondary hasn't given up a pass TD in 6 games, the longest stretch by any team in 38 years.

i can't say i agree, particularly when mixed with what people are talking about with restructuring and needing to cut or trade guys to make the cap work as has been alluded to unless you're restructuring them all and prolonging cap hell

QB: need 1; you need someone to come and compete with McCarthy though given where he's at as well as his health.
RB: need at least 1 contributor; combined Mason (5.8m) and Jones (14.8) cost you 20mil with their contract bumps and Chandlers contract is up. You need a FA or to draft one and I hate that 15mil cap hit for Jones who can't stay healthy and restructuring him just keeps him rostered more years.
WR: need a WR3 and also have to make decision on Addison. Nailor is going to cost us too much to afford and can't see us just pinning it all on hoping Felton pans out or Moore coming off yet another injury. Cap hit there is already 43mil with JJs raise and Addison
TE: need at least 1; Hock is on pace to have his worst campaign statistically and clearly looks regressed. For a guy who will make 21mil next year, something has to give and could be cut for a 9mil cap saving
OL: need 1 for sure; Idk what to make of Darrisaw (this is very very weird) but you for sure need at minimum one new guy in the middle 3 and you need to add depth (Jurgens is a good multi position depth guy, not a starter). ONeill needs and extension. Darrisaw may never be the same and that's one of the most worrisome pieces to me. I would assume they cut Kelly
DT: you'll need a DT. You can't pay Hargrave and Allen 42 mil combined. Then they've got to pay Redmond.
DE: this is one where it could get interesting with trading someone. Gink and Greenard both missed time and Turner has looked pretty good. That said, they will need at least one more guy here but should be a depth guy
LB: Wilson and Pace both are up. you need 2 LBs (or to resign them who will both be more expensive than their current deals)
CB: Will need depth/slot corners but I'd assume they're rolling with Murphy and Rodgers
S: I assume Harry retires so will need a safety
ST: Reichard is on a great deal. Will need to decide on Wright who's been good this year imo

So as far as starters/contributors, 1 RB (imo), WR3, 1 TE, 1-2 OL, 1 DT, 1-2 LBs, S and depth DBs, LBs, OL, and a backup QB. we're in one of those wild spots where our est cap hits under contract for next year are almost 80mil higher on offense and almost $50mil on defense.
There are ample holes to fill once we look at getting ourselves under the cap. I do think we have some moveable assets if we want to go that route (Addison, DE), but also some uggo contracts

think its an exciting offseason coming and is part of why I wanted the pick to be as high as humanly possible given we've got our own 1-3 but nothing of our own in 4 or 5 and how the comp picks shake out

think this is more because we are razor thin back there and Harry's anticipated retirement

I get it, but if Harry doesn't retire, he'll be back next season.

They've spent a lot of high picks on CB's/S's with little return. I think they have bigger needs on the OL, RB, and probably even at QB.

that's very fair. He is the 50th graded safety by PFF so clearly still can contribute. The need is biggest if he retires. Otherwise just need added depth there. I agree with you they have bigger needs if he is back.

You are right that they don't care about the draft. They've been f------g it up for years now.

Meatsauce says the off season is his favorite time of the year. So, if I am hearing him correctly, he loves it when the vikes do not play….ok.

Yep, playing pretty well. Still see some big holes in the zone on occasion and have to find a replacement for Harry.

The Vikings should have kept Cam Bynum and let Murphy Jr. go elsewhere.

There were options at CB cheaper than keeping Murphy. Like keeping Blackmon and Nashon Wright.

Because they showed so much while they were here.

The Colts have both Bynum and Blackmon and have a bottom 3 passing defense. The Bears have Wright and are middle of the pack.

Meanwhile the Vikings have a top 3 pass defense.
