All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

I dont know if I recall a guy already hurt, getting crushed repearedly while his coach just watches. Disgusting

An obviously concussed Archie Manning for the Vikings against the Bears in 1984 at Soldier Field was a difficult watch.

By the time it was 34-10 last Thursday, I would have thought just putting Brosmer in to do nothing but hand off would have been the humane action for KOC.

How long is this effeminate upspeak Ben Leber going to talk. Just the worst. I’d rather hear dumbsauce.

Absolutely pathetic and disgusting for KOC to leave Wentz in the game as long as he did against the Chargers knowing the injuries he was dealing with.

KOC: "JJM's ankle must be treated with the utmost delicacy, no matter how many weeks or months it takes to be healed to 100, no, 110 percent. We cannot risk the slightest bit of pain or hardship upon our young protege!"

Assistant: "Sir, Carson Wentz's shoulder just fell off and he's screaming in pain."

KOC: "Run his ass back out there now!"

I was a little upset at the time that Brosmer wasn't put in the game. I thought it was the right time, but I'm not an NFL Head Coach.

As far as Wentz doing what he did; I think it's certainly possible that Wentz, a player who had been branded a "bad teammate" for a lot of his career, sucked it up and took one for the team knowing that they did not want to put Brosmer in that situation. It's not like Wentz and/or the training staff said he wasn't able to go and KOC said, "F*ck that, you're going back in".

It was a no-win situation in a game out of reach. Easy to second-guess 3-4 days later.

Throw him back in there. He’s ok. Can’t imagine the pain he had with a torn labrum and fractured socket after this tackle on his shoulder

This organization is becoming a disaster.

What a flipping joke.
Hopefully you don’t have The Athletic, because today’s column is brutally honest as to the status of the 3-4 Vikes, there’s seemingly many significant issues without easy fixes from my limited perspective.

I almost upchucked my oatmeal.

Read it and 😪 -

Thought we had signed another QB a while ago? Maybe released him in some other move.

Will Brosmer be the backup or will they sign someone else to do that and keep the undrafted rookie as 3rd?

it's almost like Carson said he wanted to play and could (it's a pain issue not like he's going to die or lose a limb from the injury). Numerous players play with broken things all the time (have none of you ever seen the D players with shoulder harnesses on playing with torn labrums?). Off top of my head, Leftwich being carried down the field while playing on a broken leg in college, McNabb on a broken fibula that he ran on for the whole game, Rivers torn ACL in the playoffs, numerous QBs playing with broken ribs for multiple weeks, Simms ruptured spleen game.

If they pressured him to play when he said he couldn't then that's a problem, but to act like we don't all glorify guys playing through pain in the NFL and that this is some huge outlier is just not true.

You'd rather Brosmer then get smashed and injured too?
Wentz isn't very mobile or elusive even when fully healthy and he was clearly injured and in a lot of pain. I'm no fan of Wentz but the choice made by KOC to keep him in the game is inexcusable. I would also question the integrity of our medical staff, too.

So yes...Brosmer should've been in the game and earning his paycheck as a well paid NFL player. Players play. KOC crapped the bed on this and deserves plenty of criticism. I also wonder if the NFLPA is going to start asking some questions, too.

It's pretty much a lock that this will be a lost season with the most expensive roster in the NFL. The Vikings are back in cap hell, ~24 million over the cap for next season ranking 31 in the NFL. With Kwesi hitting on so few draft picks, does he survive? I could see them keeping KOC for one more year but it's tough to justify keeping Kwesi for another.

Hopefully JJM shows signs of being a franchise QB the rest of the year. That will be their saving grace. If he looks bad, I don't see how the Vikings are any good for several years. It will be a total rebuild across the entire organization.

I'm not jumping to the conclusion that this is a "lost" season just yet.

The Vikings are only 1 game back in the L Column for a Wild Card.

Next 3 games are @Lions, Ravens, Bears. Absolutely have to win 2 of 3 and be he 5-5 at the end of that to have a shot.
