All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

By all means, slam your fist into the table with a 🤡 take demanding to start McCarthy on a short week against his former head coach.

Or an even worse take demanding to start an undrafted rookie.

If you liked the Falcons game. That's what it would be.

Or if you prefer a close loss, should have been a win, against the defending champs whose QB played his best game of the year against us (of course!), and are a reasonable person, then you go with what KOC decides to do and trust it.

Heat’ll be up this week with JJ Mac chat. If anyone is lying it’ll be exposed

there is zero reason for Wentz to take another snap. by basically every advanced metric he is bottom 5 in the league. If you're not growing, there is no point as you don't have a QB on this roster that can win you 3 playoff games (nor do I think this roster even with an avg QB could do that) so you need to try develop one. Wentz will get no better. Both JJM and Brosmer could in theory get better. As much as I hate agreeing with meatsauce, play one of the two of them

I watched some packers and cardinals.

It seems everyone has a TE that can run and get open.

Kraft is dynamite for Green Bay. LaPorta is the same for Detroit. The McBride guy for Arizona is damn good.

With Addison and Jefferson, we should kill it with the TE. We get nothing.

We have lineman back and Addison back.

That would be huge for JJ

What in the hell would we wait for........oh, ya........the delusion we are still contenders. LOL

McCarthy won't play Thursday night either as he hasn't practiced enough, but for the love of everything, if he doesn't get back on the field soon..........it's another baffling viking mystery.

That’s not lack of talent though. It’s lack of execution.
It's a lack of physicality. We don't run the ball well in the redzone, and we aren't overly physical on the outside.

Is it execution or we simply can't do it?

I don't understand the complaints on the Hockenson non-TD. The bottom of the ball hit the ground, and he had control at first, then he lost control as he rolled over. It wasn't a catch.

Execution and play calling IMO. We have the personnel to do it.

Which just even further underscores that Turner is the only guy KAM has drafted that plays on our defense, and that's only because Van Gink is out

It must be my 62 year old Viking eyes but I’m not seeing the “indisputable visual evidence” of a mistaken call. Nevertheless, the deserving team won the game and it’s time to move on to LA.
Correct.

It was correctly called a TD on the field, and could have very easily been left alone. That would have been the call if it was the Eagles.

Awful Wentz can win with four backups, but we have to coddle McCarthy with an all Pro-Bowl OL in order for him to succeed? Hmm.

Tonight is Sunday. Guys were already starting full blown rehab tonight in prep for the short week, according to KOC's postgame.

Monday. Tuesday.

Wednesday they're on a plane for LA.

Barring significant injury -- it will be the exact same lineup.

There isn't time to do anything else.

Are you an NDSU grad or something?

It has nothing to do with coddling McCarthy. We have to find out about McCarthy.

Wentz is 2-2

McCarthy is 1-1

What is your point?

Oh and yes, a qb making his first starts ever, it's nice to have the offensive line intact!

If you think that was a TD catch you don't understand the rules. The ball can touch the ground and be caught, as long as the receiver maintains possession the entire time. Hocksenson did not.

The ball clearly popped out when he rolled over. It did not matter that it didn't hit the ground again. It already did when he first caught it. Therefore it is not a catch.

If it has nothing to do with coddling, then McCarthy should be able to win with backup OL.

But he played terribly.

He isn't ready this year. That's just the deal.

Holding happens every single play. All over the field.

There is no requirement to call everything that happens exactly as it happens.

So don't play him, and he'll be ready next year?

I'm at a loss with your thinking on this.

Oh, and Drake Maye was not good last year, but he played all year and look at him now.
