I know you gave this strong opinion about how we can't protect him and so on. But I trust NFL coaches, particularly ours, over you. If they say he should not make his first start in a few weeks against a pissed off Eagles team out for blood, then they are correct and you are not.Honestly, if just JJM develops into a Pro Bowl caliber player, I'll forget about every single poor Draft selection KAM has ever made. I acknowledge how difficult (and sometimes reliant on sheer luck) this can be for any GM.
I haven't given up on JJM yet...not even close, but my anxiety as a fan is rising a tad. I really hope he plays against the Eagles and stays healthy the rest of the season to see what we have in him.
He's got a lot on his plate...first year as a starter, just had a baby, planning a wedding, etc. I lose focus just walking to the kitchen.
(To be fair, I fully acknowledge that if they do choose to start him, then I am wrong and you are right.)
A disastrous start against the Eagles, such as his last start, guarantees that he becomes the next Bryce Young.
I can't see how that's a good outcome for anyone involved.
(Not to mention that Wentz starting against his former team will have the NFL and TV execs drooling. Of course, that's not a valid consideration for us, but just saying, will easily be the #1 talker in the league next week.)
