I totally agree. It was the only scenario and location that Hoiberg survives the 4-year mark. Most schools would have never given him a 5th. Nebraska's basketball history and Fred having family ties to the University allowed him the extra year or two to develop a good Nebraska team. The first 4 were really bad.Hypothetical, of course, but Nebraska likely makes the NCAA easily last season if Mast doesn’t get hurt. Would’ve been back to back years in the NCAA.
Seems to me, Nebraska’s patience with Freddy is paying off. They trusted his success at Iowa State and what they were seeing within their own program.
