All Things 2025-26 Other College Basketball Games Thread

Hypothetical, of course, but Nebraska likely makes the NCAA easily last season if Mast doesn’t get hurt. Would’ve been back to back years in the NCAA.

Seems to me, Nebraska’s patience with Freddy is paying off. They trusted his success at Iowa State and what they were seeing within their own program.
I totally agree. It was the only scenario and location that Hoiberg survives the 4-year mark. Most schools would have never given him a 5th. Nebraska's basketball history and Fred having family ties to the University allowed him the extra year or two to develop a good Nebraska team. The first 4 were really bad.

Agreed they were patient and realized they had the right guy once the landscape of the sport changed. Pre NIL I would have said Miles was about as good as it gets, but between the laces portal rules and quite frankly the influx of cash coming into the sport and the big ten, it's been favorable for Nebraska fortunes

This place is hilarious.

For the previous 4+ years, we’ve had daily postings about how Ben Johnson is/was the worst coach in history (slight hyperbole), and the bashing continues months after being relieved of his duties, and I simply point out the Fred Hoiberg underperformed Ben Johnson for over 6 years.

Yeah, he had success a half a decade before, and at a completely different school…cool. 6 years with 1 tourney appearance and zero weeks ever ranked before this season.

Lots of excuses why Hoiberg should be shown patience, and maybe I would have liked to see a bit more of that attitude directed to our own recent coaches instead of constant bashing, this place is a self loathing cesspool far too often.
