All Things 2025-26 Other College Basketball Games Thread

Watching Little Richard and Xavier take on Santa Clara. Thanking God that Niko's our coach.

Sometimes a person forgets how poor ball movement, bad spacing, and poor free throw shooting were a staple of Richard's recruiting. Santa Clara up 39-20 at the half.
Santa Clara in our pool at Palm Springs?

Watching Michigan, and now Illinois, their height is going to be tough for our shorties to deal with.
Illinois is missing its best player who is also 7-1. Really need him to compete in the long term. And need to get Petrovic back to help in guard rotation.

It’s going to be a tough league this year.

Tech was missing their starting Center/Best Defender, Illinois was missing two starters. Huge free throw disparity in Illinois favor. I am walking away from that game impressed by both teams. Both looked like Elite 8 teams. Toppin might be the best player in the NCAA.

Illinois should be the pick to win the conference. They're really good.

He was a good free throw shooter in high school hell Payne has AAU highlights of him hitting threes, feel like it was always in him
Just so strange for the Gophers under Johnson: A guy who could make free throws in high school comes here and becomes one of the worst free throw shooters on a team that's one of the worst free throw-shooting teams in Division 1.

Agreed, I can kind of give a freshman pass. I remember Nate Mason was a terrible FT shooter his freshman year, cost us a couple big ten wins, but he became reliable the next three years, but then again I think Dre Hollins freshman year was one of if not the best FT shooting season in program history. IDK, Tubby had Mbakwe air balling free throws, Pitino had some brutal FT shooting teams as well, I would be curious to know how programs approach it in practice vs how much guys work on it individually on their own as well.

Groves played 10 minutes and didn't really have any stats in his first big time game for TT. He started in Toppin's spot in previous game.

Minnesota by 40 over Alcorn State
Maryland by 20 over Alcorn State. Was 6 at the half.
