We have a game Thursday night vs Detroit. National tv game.We probably didn't deserve the loser point, but it could've helped. The game certainly ended a lot closer than I thought it would after that 1st period where the Habs were skating circles around the Wild. Hopefully they can get some good rest before Hockey Day Minnesota
Wild win the OT opening draw and circle around with the puck for over two minutes, taking zero shots. Make a rule that you cannot retreat over the red line with the puck if you have entered the offensive zone with possession and never surrender possession. I am really tired of watching OT where players circle around all the way back to the defensive zone after having gained the offensive zone. Make it a violation and a face-off. Or, make it even worse - offending team must retreat behind the red line and other team is awarded the puck behind their own net.Wild lose on Minnesota Hockey Day 4-3 in overtime to Florida. Of course The RAT wins it for them
I watch a ton of puck and overtime’s seem to have gotten back to the run and gun style it was when 3 on 3 first came along. Now believe me I’m not saying they are all like that as last night was a prime example. I could be totally wrong with that but from what I’ve witnessed if just seems it’s bit better this seasonWild win the OT opening draw and circle around with the puck for over two minutes, taking zero shots. I actually agree with this - that it does seem to be teams are more willing to risk losing possession by taking shots this season. Last night was awful though. Wild tied for league lead with 20 OT games. We are 10-0-10 in them, but man.I watch a ton of puck and overtime’s seem to have gotten back to the run and gun style it was when 3 on 3 first came along. They need to change the way they do the points. There are so many teams playing for OT now and it’s artificially driving up points. Would 100% be fine with getting rid of the loser points or making a rw worth more. Why we decide ot games should give out bonus points (3) versus regulation only being worth 2 is dumb.I actually agree with this - that it does seem to be teams are more willing to risk losing possession by taking shots this season. Agreed. Giving one (1) point to the OT winner and nothing to the losing team seems like a logical approach to me. I'm sure there's a flaw to my logic, though, that I haven't thought of.They need to change the way they do the points. Minnesota Wild Open To Trading Jesper Wallstedt

The Minnesota Wild “would be open to dealing” top young netminder Jesper Wallstedt “if the right deal comes along,” The Athletic’s Michael Russo reported today. On Sportsnet’s 32 Thoughts podcast today, Elliotte Friedman echoed Russo’s report, adding that Wild GM Bill Guerin may have already attempted to deal Wallstedt as part of his longstanding efforts to acquire a top-six center.
As part of Russo’s report, he indicated that “the right deal” to include Wallstedt, from the Wild’s perspective, would be one that brings a pivot capable of filling the No. 1 center role to Minnesota. The Wild are, according to Russo, “aggressively looking” to add a top-six center to their lineup.
