It was speculated he was going to run for Tuberville's Senate seat in Bama. But he's always been better running from things than running for things.
Sadly, that would be an upgrade for Alabama. But perhaps stop electing coaches to be your Senators.

Missed this one a few weeks ago, didn’t have a HC resigning because his assistant was pimping on the card…

UMKC chimes in with a really good hire:

Kansas City has hired former Maryland coach Mark Turgeon as the program's next head coach, the school announced Sunday afternoon.

Turgeon will replace Marvin Menzies, who will not return to the Roos after this season but is finishing the remainder of the campaign.

"We are delighted to welcome Coach Turgeon and his wife Ann to the Roo family," Kansas City athletic director Brandon Martin said in a statement. "It's exciting to have them both back home in the Midwest. Coach Turgeon brings a wealth of credibility and success for our fan base, alumni, donors and key stakeholders throughout Kansas City. This will undoubtedly be an exciting and rewarding era for our Roo basketball program."

A Kansas native who played and coached for the Jayhawks, Turgeon was most recently the head coach at Maryland. During his decade in College Park, he led the Terrapins to five NCAA tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 run in 2016. They also won a share of the Big Ten regular-season title in 2020 before the NCAA tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Turgeon stepped down less than one month into the 2020-21 season shortly after signing a three-year contract extension.
