All Things 2025-2026 Minnesota Timberwolves In-Season Thread

I was shocked how the refs let them play so physical on wemby, at least late in the game. If it were SGA or Luka, the whole team would have fouled out
hard to say now post Finchy going ballistic. Maybe the NBA is finally waking up a bit that fans want to see the guys allowed to play defense. One can hope that it continues all the way through the postseason as last night's game was pretty epic

Two big developments with ANT this year:

- He's attacking the basket much more frequently in big moments than he did previous years. This is a huge development for him. Last year he relied too frequently on step back 3's when trying to close out a game. Now he's going right at the rim.

- He's making big shots. I knew this would come in due time, but for a few years he was missing most game winning situations.

ANT's development and growth is significant. It's so fun to watch. He's also the "alpha" that KG never had in his DNA.

Howl Wolves!!

His clutch percentages are insane this year (in the 70s eFG%) where he was one of the worst last year. He’s too good a player to be as bad as he was last year and the whole “ant isn’t clutch” argument was just dumb. This year he’s bordering on clutch player of the year and it’s for exactly why you allude to in point one. He’s so much harder to guard when he’s attacking the rim so you have to respect it and he can score all over the floor at a very high clip.

Looks like Edwards is out for tomorrow’s game. So, 2 starters down.
With Rudy suspended tomorrow, it sure would be nice to have Beringer play 15-20 minutes to see how far along his game has developed.

I doubt he could play more minutes than that before fouling out...

Will be interesting how they handle it. Wolves have been fortunate so far as missing players for games.

untradeable or peak sell high territory? Always 2 ways to look at it. Couple that with look who we're subbing in for him right now while he plays less of the minutes with the 2nd string guys versus Ant and there's really varying reasons why different guys are on this list.
His turnovers are down this year. That's huge. Donte is a great role player. You need those who can shoot and are willing defenders (good or bad, he does always give you effort on every possession).

Why has Anthony Edwards been on the injury report recently? It's due to the lingering effects of a toe infection, according to Timberwolves insider Jon Krawczynski

DD has been one of their best 2 way players this year. He's on a very cheap contract for his production. He has far and away their best +/- this season. Has proven again that as a starter, much like with the Knicks, he's better than off the bench.

I have no problem if the Wolves find a better backup PG, but their starting 5 should remain the starting 5. As I've said all year, PG is not the issue. When they play defense, they beat everyone.

I still disagree with you about our PG situation, especially since Ant's A/TO ratio this year is the worst it's been since his rookie season. It's hard to criticize our offensive output as a team, though.

As for your point on DDV, as much as he'd be a great addition to the bench to help Naz carry the load offensively, you simply can't deny the stats (and your opinion) that confirm he produces better as a Starter.

Dosunmu from the Bulls is the guy I'd like to see us add. He's a pending FA after this year but he has a lot of the same winning qualities as DDV - outside shooting, defense and grit. He's an even better ballhandler and rim runner.

Yeah I really like DDV as do the wolves. Just think everything is on the table for this team in making a move

I like Dosunmu, he's better offensively than defensively though.

The funny thing about the Wolves roster is they only have 2 players that have won NBA championships in the past. DDV and Bones, which is seemingly who everyone wants to 'upgrade' from.

DDV started that entire year for Milwaukee, although next to Jrue Holiday, and then got hurt in the 1st round. Edit: Bones was traded halfway through Denver's championship season.

Hyland was traded to the Clippers. Was not a part of the Nuggets playoff run that season.
