All Things 2024-25 Minnesota Timberwolves In-Season Thread

The Mavericks trade Luka for peanuts then magically get Cooper Flagg...what a 'coincidence'

Tatum looks like he tore an Achilles. NY is going to win that series

Cleveland looked unbeatable at points during the year.
Guess the Pacers did not see those games.

This version of the nuggets here in the third is a terrifying matchup

Okc depth scoring is killing Denver right now and the nuggets can’t hit a wide open 3 on multiple attempts. Going to be a heck of a finish

Denver's starting 5 could have won it all last year and also this year.

Their bench kills them, though. They wasted some great Jokic years.

That and MPJ being hurt right now are just daggers

Denver doesn't have enough. They need at least one more solid player, and Braun isn't a guy they can rely on. Yet, he shot and missed a lot of open 3s.

They need to have a running clock in this Knicks/Celtics game. Boston is going to win. come on nba.

The Timberwolves and the Lynx are the class of the local pro market.

I just read an article saying Wolves clearly won the Gobert trade.
Utah has received Walter Kessler and Devonte George with our picks. After this year Utah will only have two of our picks (late first round?) left.

dunkingwithwolves is always biased. Hard to say we won when we're still paying out the picks. The bigger part was the vision pairing Rudy and Randle (who clearly cannot rim defend and is a minus defender statistically, but is better than KAT) and counting on the growth of Jaden and NAW with DDV adding a bonus off the bench. Rudy's actually the lowest rated in terms of defensive win shares of our big 4 (Ant, Randle, Jaden, Rudy) but he enables them to do so. Finchy deserves a ton of credit for getting them to gel like this.

If we win a title (to me that's really the only way you can say one side dominated a trade deal), it's over and done regardless of what Utah does. Kessler and George both look like good role players. The part that's fucked Utah is that the wolves have become really good (mostly because Ant has grown into the player we all hoped he could be) so the draft picks didn't work out from the wolves and they haven't done real well when it comes to ping pong balls in the lottery.

Some of the opinions/takes on there are insane, but I agree that we won that trade overall.
agreed we won so far. fleeced is a whole different word (not saying you said that, just remembered reading the article).
