All Things 2024-25 College Football Coach Fired/Hired/Retired Thread

It's early but could coordinators be on the move more than HC's this year? Hard to support NIL and buyouts at the same time.

Will be interesting to watch.

Nebraska DC to Florida State
Washington Stat OC to Oklahoma
People were surprised when the Nebraska DC left for a lateral job. But I figure he thought to himself, my defense held Iowa to 13 points in the last game and that was a loss. So I'm out.

It wasn't that long ago that Herman and K. Wilson were hot hires.

Stepsis is a sick hire.

I find it interesfing that the pioneer league coaches are getting gobbled up

I find it interesting that Entz felt the need to leave NDSU to land a job like Fresno. Precious NDSU guy went straight to power 5.

This kind of surprises me a little. I guess they were bottom quarter of the league in total offense, but they seemed better to that in my mind.
Clash of egos with the head coach I'm guessing...

so, various outlets are reporting that Bill Belichick has interviewed for the North Carolina Head Coaching job.

on a list of WTF ideas, this is right up there. a guy his age, who has never coached in college, wanting to jump into the current enviroment with NIL and the Portal?

Makes sense to me, he has been a GM too 😂

Don’t know anything but nothing that has slowed Bienamy’s career in coaching has been about what has occurred in the field of play

He was the next great nfl coach just a few years ago and has not sniffed a job since he left Kansas City

He interview for the North Carolina job.

so - I did not know that Belichick's son was the DC at the University of Washington (in the B1G!)

apparently Bill has been visiting his kid during the season and getting a taste of the college coaching life - and found something about it appealing. I guess that makes the North Carolina news a little less bizarre.

The Athletic discussed this in their NFL column and Bill is a coach so he wants to coach and he realizes he may not get that opportunity in the NFL again, let alone having control over personnel; in college he does.

Additionally, he has had regularly college coaches visit him in the summer during the offseasons, including his close friend Saban. I imagine, it would be fun to have his kid on his staff.

His interest is reportedly genuine. I bet he live without catching Shula’s most career wins, as no one bud winning 6 Super Bowls. I realize Vince has 7, including NFL Championships, but the average fan doesn’t🤷‍♂️.
