yes, they do, but it was still an embarrassment. There were times they rushed only 3 or 4, we kept our tight end in to help and just got steamrolled.Agree they did not play well but Cleveland also has a very good defensive front 7.

I'm sure they know; from everything I've heard, Mond is YEARS from contributing. Tools are there, maybe, but it's a massive long term project. It would be absolutely stupid to throw him in there anytime soon. They know what they have. It isn't much...
What you say about Cousins is most definitely true, and true of about 85% of the QBs in the league. There's MAYBE a handful of guys that can overcome a substandard OL, and that's a small handful.give Cousins a clean pocket, and he can make just about any throw.
But when the pocket breaks down, Cousins gets flustered, develops happy feet, and loses all sense of what is happening down field.
knowing that, the front office's #1 priority should have been on having the best O-Line they could afford. Instead, we got more free agents for the defense.
This situation is on Zimmer and Spielman. If one goes, both should go.
if this thing really bottoms out, the Vikes could be looking at a new head coach, GM and QB for next year. But at least they'll get a good draft pick.....
I know they’ll usually let more physical play happen on these last plays but hugging a WR is going a bit too far.
Yeah there were a few times they tried to block Myles garret 1 on 1 with the tight end and that didn’t work well. That should never be the game plan going into a game though. You know he’s gonna steam roll a tight end.yes, they do, but it was still an embarrassment. There were times they rushed only 3 or 4, we kept our tight end in to help and just got steamrolled.
We scored 7 points at home and are 1-3. Last year, we started off 1-5. Cousins is not the answer.Agree on the first part, but not second. Mayfield was worse than Cousins today overall. Missed several wide open throws.
They also may have been able to throw 2 hail mary's with 12 seconds to play. The 6 yard out, was a waste.^^^^^^ Hey Mike, you can throw the Hail Mary from the 32. Good Grief! Time to hang it up.
Thats the whole point, two shots instead of one. They also may have been able to throw 2 hail mary's with 12 seconds to play. The 6 yard out, was a waste.
I'm simply saying Mayfield is worse. Neither are the answer. We scored 7 points at home and are 1-3. Last year, we started off 1-5. Cousins is not the answer.
I would rather have Mayfield. We do not know his upside yet, we know Cousin's ceiling.I'm simply saying Mayfield is worse. Neither are the answer.
Isn't Mayfield supposed to be a "less than ideal" teammate, or am I just conflating him with Manzel?I would rather have Mayfield. We do not know his upside yet, we know Cousin's ceiling.
Not exactly an apt comparison when, barring a complete and total meltdown by Baker, he's going to be signing his contract extension in the next several months that will likely put him well over Cousins' $31M/yr hit.Baker Mayfield - $10-million cap hit
Kirk Cousins - $31-million cap hit.
So the question is - is Cousins' production worth the cap hit compared to Mayfield?
I can't imagine Baker behind this offensive line. Holy Sickness! Not exactly an apt comparison when, barring a complete and total meltdown by Baker, he's going to be signing his contract extension in the next several months that will likely put him well over Cousins' $31M/yr hit.
I don't even know about great ... they just crumble under powerful bull-rushes. Was the same thing vs Bengals. And probably with twists thrown in there too.If Mayfield wasn’t so terrible, this game isn’t even close. The OL is usually good enough against average or bad defensive lines. But against great ones, they can’t do anything.
How about Cook???It sure is a good thing we threw good money at Barr to not go to the Jets. One of the many ways on which Zim has too much pull over Spielman. It sure would be nice to have that money to throw at the OL.
Two rookies on the same side is why they moved Cleveland over to LG in the first place.Haven't seen the grades for today, but Cleveland has also not been good at LG. Perhaps Darrisaw/Davis take over the left side as a tandem after the bye.
Refs are afraid to give the behind team a TD at the end of a game, now. Or perhaps dictated from HQ not to let that happen.I know they’ll usually let more physical play happen on these last plays but hugging a WR is going a bit too far.

Kirk Cousins - $31-million cap hit.

He was worth it last week. But not this week.Mayfield at $10 million is what you'd pay for a QB on a team that wants to run. He's not great, and that's fully expected.
Here's a damning stat.
The Vikings have played 4 games. Rookies have only taken 9 total snaps on offense and defense in those games.
True, but you had 4, third round picks, with holes all over this team. None can get on the field.
Darrisaw starts every snap. Silly non-argument can't even be said.
