If you didn't know Lindsey was a redshirt freshman, you could probably tell it from his game-to-game Total QBR chart.
He has produced a rating over 93.0 on two occasions, and two games ago at Iowa, he produced a 4.8. Season averages of 5.7 yards per dropback and a 41.8% success rate are not amazing.

Drake is actually #51, I would put him about 10 spots higher. They ranked TJ Lateef and both Michigan St QBs higher...

Given there’s zero consistency to the rating metric and no context supplied, it would make sense the list makes literally no sense

He’s shown flashes but his numbers are not that great.
Lots of room for growth and improvement but for a redshirt Freshman getting his first game action he has been solid.

The exciting part is thinking of what he could become over time as he continues to develop, think we all forget sometimes that guys are rarely finished products and he should only get better as he gets more experience.

I agree there has been some good signs and some growing pains. Good potential. Hopefully he will continue to develop.

Overall I think his numbers are lower than many people expected though if I remember the thread about him early in the year.

Maybe a little but his production seems to be roughly middle of the conference which is not bad for a freshman.

I think, for a redshirt fr, he's done alright. I think next year, is when he'll show real growth. He needs more consistent protection though

I don't have a problem with a middle of the road rating.

Drake showed a lot more promise for a freshman earlier in the year. As the season has gone on his freshman status seemed to be more ... present.

Still happy to have him as a QB, I'm hopeful for Drake as a prospect, but maybe a little less as time has gone one.

One of the best compliments for the way Drake has played this year is that most of the time he hasn't looked like a freshman. Gets easy to forget that he is just getting started.

Very similar to a new pitcher in baseball, as teams get film on guys they can start to figure out ways to make things difficult for them. At this point in the season teams have adjusted to Drake so now it is on him and the coaches to counter those adjustments.

Also drake to see the open man ... had a few of those late in the season.

We beat MSU, but man that game could have been over before it was eventually over.

Yes hes not at the bottom...but he's bottom half...I guess a lot depends on what you feel are important stats:

11th in yards
13th in Comp %
14th in yds per pass
T-12 in Td's
13th in rating
4 QBs have more interceptions...

with 18 teams in the league statistically he's around 12-13 IMO, which is better than most national prognosticators had him pegged, but I think for all the hype he gets you would figure he'd be a little higher.

I would without a doubt take 5-6 QBs over him (OSU, Indiana, Oregon, Washington, Illinois, USC) in the B10, but I think he's pretty close to #'s 7-12 or 13. Hopefully next year he can move into that next tier.

By comparison Brosmer was in the top 6 for most of those categories last season and AK was higher his full season here (although it was 14 teams then)

I thought MSUs qb last game Alessio Milivojevic was interesting in our game, dude could sling it / make things happen in the face of a lot of pressure.

Your final comment underscores why stats aren't always the best way to evaluate things. Because given the choice between AK in 2023 or Lindsey in 2025 - Lindsey would win in a landslide.

Drake is firmly in the middle of the pack for Big Ten QBs this year. Not great but definitely could do a lot worse. Good starting point for a redshirt freshman and should go up from here as long as he puts in the work and keeps developing.

I agree on the stats point for sure. I'd agree and on potential I would put him in the top half for sure. I like Altmyer from Illinois and maybe he can have a similar career path...

Being a freshman and playing in a directionless offense with a bad OC makes it tough to fo better.
