You will notice he got benched.

He was completely lost on defense, got fooled by the STUDENTS (my god!) and occasionally thinks that running an offense means to walk it up the floor and start the the offensive set with 20 seconds left on the shot clock.

Kalin Lucas is quicker than him, and quickness is his only asset. Thus, ineffective if he doesn't play smart.
 

i actually agree...devoe could start and id be fine with it..atleast he can shoot..and less TO's..al just holds the ball and points...pretty bad IMO
 

Al Nolen is sucking.
And, last I checked, he has company.

He is the PG that sets the tone. His performance tonight was embarrassing. It is not halftime and I am speaking in past tense because he should not see the floor against MSU ever again.

It would be one thing if he was Chris Paul, but he's not. The other team never has to move so it's easy to play D.

Illinois's 36 is in serious jeopardy.

It's Al's fault. Henry went downhill and hasn't been the same since he was the man there too.

Seriously, he's regressed and needs to get his head together. This goes further than tonight, although this is the worst he's played this year.

Al Nolen isn't the coach.

What "sucks" is Tubby Smith's offense--or lack there of.

Also, I'm guessing that there are at least 12 other people playing on the court. Nice to know that
you think Al Nolen is the key to this team.

On that we can agree.

Better shooting, maybe.

Less TO's check the stats idiot, Nolen has one of the top assists to TO ratios in THE COUNTRY.

Minnesota doesn't deserve Nolen. Hope he transfers.

I'm thinking that as the PG, it's Nolen's job to get them the ball... if they aren't scoring, I'd say that Nolen is at least part of the problem.
 

Al Nolen is a very nice player. He's hit a wall and struggled. Now is not the time to be throwing a young man under a bus. I would love to have Al Nolen running my team right now. Would you like to have Mike Porter instead? Think before you say things like these people.

nolen never, ever sets you up for a good look

the MSU point guard set them up all night

that is basketball 101 for a point guard

al nolen basically does suck........WHY DONT PEOPLE BELIEVE WHAT THEIR OWN EYES ARE SEEING?

Devoe actually has the worst TO rate on the team.
 

Agree w/Moonlight and Drex. Nolen isn't exactly lighting it up, but he does not suck at all. In the first 5 minutes the big guys got beat badly on the boards, Iverson turned it over a ton, Westbrook didn't do anything on offense, and whatever defense they were trying to play on Summers (if they were trying anything) failed. Nolen was benched and the second unit game in and did no better. A Monson era effort from the whole squad....

That's one thing I've noticed. Al may drop the ball to the bigs, but he NEVER looks to the wings to Westbrook, JAS, Hoff, etc.

We can't stretch the D if they can just sag down and never have to guard our shooters because we NEVER penetrate and kick it out.
