In the midst of all this bubble talk, this is such a beautiful story that had me crying last year, and again this year. She really is a miracle. If you missed it, here are the clips:

I watched this last night on my DVR. Their story is simply awesome and inspiring; Payne seems like such a genuine guy. Stories like this are probably why I have never seemed to have any ill will towards Izzo and the Spartans. They are usually a class act compared to other B1G programs that I despise.

The Journey is a great show, but it's been a blessing and a curse for me. It used to be easier to hate all the other conference teams, but when you get to see the players and coaches up close, you realize what kind of good and sometimes extraordinary people you're talking about. It makes it harder to have any animosity towards any of these teams, even the hated rivals. Only half serious about all this "hate" talk, of course, but the show has honestly made me more sympathetic towards everyone in the conference. Makes it a lot easier to cheer for them in the postseason, though.

So much this.

True, but I still despise Bo Ryan!

I saw the first story last year and it shows AP is a quality guy going above and beyond.

I've liked Izzo for a while.
What you have to credit Izzo for is for him bringing real relevance back to the Big Ten. He could have left many times, but when the Big Ten was down, he stayed while other teams were going through a turnover of coaches.
That in turn has helped the Big Ten turn into one of the top 2-3 basketball conferences with a blue-ribbon list of coaches from 1-12.

Finally caught the show earlier this week. This is exactly right. I like to see the Big Ten teams do well in the NCAA, but I'll be particularly pulling for Michigan State this year. Cool show.

When MSU received their championship trophy Sunday, they took the team photo with Lacey sitting on Payne's lap. She was happy as could be, had a sweet smile 5 miles long. She even kissed the trophy, which was sitting right next to her & AP.
