Anyone know how Adam Weber's NFL career is doing?

I remember when numerous posters believed he would be an NFL starter.

I think Weber as a person is as respectable as they come but I don't understand how anyone could watch his games and seriously think he was an NFL caliber QB...

Tough kid... could play maybe TE or something in the NFL but QB? No sir...

I don't recall that such a thing happened. I do remember numerous posters claiming Weber wasn't good enough for D-III. The practice squad may not be the top spot in the NFL, but it is not an insignificant accomplishment.

He's right though... it was a LOT of Weber being effective in the NFL talk a few years ago... those posters seem to have caught amnesia...

Decker made Weber look good... but even a lot of those games were against weaker Big Ten teams or Non-Conf because both their numbers dropped the deeper we got into the season against better teams...

Decker's route running, hands & awareness were never in question... just a great player all around... Weber's accuracy & inability to throw the ball away were always going to hurt his NFL chances...

But then again Rex Grossman started for the Chicago Bears for 2 seasons so I could see Weber getting possibly some backup minutes somewhere...

No, I think you are the one suffering from amnesia. No one ever said he would be a starter in the NFL. I along with others said he was good enough to get a shot and could make it onto a team. Well, he must have fooled a couple of NFL teams into paying him to be on their practice squads. Obviously, those NFL teams are not as good a judge of talent as many of the posters on this forum. The main argument was if Webber was a D1 pretender or if he was worth a look by the NFL. It is quite obvious who was correct on that point, with the evidence being the NFL checks that Webber cashed.

I wish the best for Adam Weber, he was a local kid who stayed home despite other high major offers Unfortunately, it's tough to make it in the NFL at QB as UDFA. Every team used to keep 3 QB's, now many teams are just keeping 2....and the teams keeping 2 are not keeping a UDFA. Weber still has practice squad eligibility and his best chance is to catch on there and be moved up via injury. Unless/until he get in a real NFL game and succeeds it will be extremely difficult for him to be a safe member of a 53 man roster.

Things like this usually get exaggerated as time goes on. I imagine several people probably said he could have a career in the NFL. That has evolved into "numerous" people believing he would be a starter.

Weber, much like Gray, never really got a fair chance to live up to his potential. He had, what, 4 or 5 offensive coordinators during his tenure (including one who had him throwing tennis balls)? He got a couple years of NFL paychecks. Good for him.

I didn't say starter... just an NFL caliber QB... & I'm pretty sure Brewster's network helped get Weber some looks in the NFL... maybe even called in a favor...

You're totally just making that up and don't have a clue. So two teams (Denver and Tampa) kept him around because of a favor to a former NFL assistant coach?

And even if "Brewster's network" helped him get looks, so what? Weber still would have had to earn a spot on his own.

You're proving my point though. It's as simple as Brewster calling an old friend at Denver and telling them to give Weber a shot. Brewster is a great salesman & Weber had the stats & broken records to justify a tryout. That's all I implied... is that it is possible that Brewster helped get Adam a look. Denver cut him... Tampa happened to pick him up for their practice squad... then cut him...

You don't think it's a coincidence that Decker & Weber both ended up on Brewster's old NFL team?

You've never had a friend hook you up with a job before?

Please tell me if anything I've said is far fetched...

No it wasn't. You implied that he possibly made the team because of Brewster. But helping someone get a tryout is way different than getting someone on the team.

I've had people help me get an interview. But after that it was all up to me.

That's what I *AM* saying... Brewster possibly helped put him in position to get looked at... & he didn't make either team... Please quote where I said he MADE THE TEAM because of Brewster... please do... because I clearly didn't...

My exact quote is -> "I'm pretty sure Brewster's network helped get Weber some looks in the NFL... maybe even called in a favor..."

Please tell me where...

I took "maybe even called in a favor" as meaning he was kept on the practice squad because of a favor. I apologize if I misunderstood.

Oh no sir I didn't mean that... I probably shouldn't have broken the sentence up...

You have absolutely no clue whether or not this is true. Absolutely NO CLUE. But you have the balls to say "I'm pretty sure"? Link? Source?

Clueless

You barely post... some "fan"...

Welcome to the Ignore List though...

One of those two is more clued in to this than anyone else here. I'd say you are making things up based on what you think happened. He is basing it on facts.

All I stated is I wouldn't be surprised if Brewster helped get Weber a look in the NFL & some "fans" caught feelings & are now on the Ignore List where they belong. It's always nice to know I'll be able to post from now on without having to read their crap...

And also, welcome... :)

No. What you wrote was: "I'm pretty sure Brewster's network helped get Weber some looks in the NFL... maybe even called in a favor..."

Big difference between "I wouldn't be surprised" and "I'm pretty sure..."
