This is just kind of a follow up from a earlier thread a couple weeks ago that listed a few players who weren't in the directory as being enrolled for this spring semester. I realize that some people find it creepy (which I can understand to a point), but I was curious if that listed changed at all since classes have started up. The good news....there are only a few players who don't appear eligible. The bad news....some pretty important players still aren't registerd (per the online directory).

Some other people might be better to explain if there are possibilities why they wouldn't be registed and still might be in the program (haven't received grades yet from J-Term, grades being appealed, etc?). I don't know that stuff, but he is a run down of the players who were in question in that last thread.

Still not enrolled:
J. Edwards
Tiree Eure
Eric Lair
Brent Singleton
Troy Stoudermire
Devon Wright

Enrolled:
Ra'Shede Hageman
James Manuel
JD Pride
Spencer Reeves
Brooks Michel (there were some questions regarding a head injury that forced him out of school last semester)
Michael Carter (wasn't on previous list, but there were some questions)

Like I said, I realize some of you might find that I searched on the database to be a little odd and I can see that. I felt kind of odd doing it, but since that thread was posted, my curiousity got the best of me.

Yikes. That's a pretty rough list, if those are the casualties.

The database behind onestop may not update on a real time basis. Perhaps tomorrow some of them may show as registered. I have a hard time believing three seniors would quit the team. Also, Heifort mentioned three senior tight ends on scholarship -- the list includes two of them.

Yeah, I agree that it is a little fishy that the list contains 4 SRs (eure, edwards, lair, stoudermire), and you are certainly right that it could be something in the database or something else.

On a side note, I do think Eure is mistaken about 3 SR TEs. Assuming everyone is healthy, I can't think of who could possibly be that 3rd TE (this is a completely seperate issue, I just still can't think of who he could be talking about).

To follow up on Bob's original post (of the players on Bob's "still not enrolled" list)...

So the list of "not enrolled" for Spring 2011 has been pared down to three. I predict this list will be more or less synonymous with the attrition list that will eventually be confirmed by Kill and staff.

Thanks DP,

To add, I've been told J. Edwards is no longer with the team. Troy would surprise me, hopefully it isn't true. Hopefully we find a way to keep Devon around.

Damage to the depth/etc aside, I'll really miss watching Troy return kicks if this is true. He was just exciting to watch...

Unless he somehow has a shot in the nfl draft, I don't see why he would leave.

Yeah, thanks DP, good updates.

I am in the exact same boat as Senor Garcia, I wasn't really expecting Edwards back and the whole Devon situation was kind of odd (I never heard anyone 100% confirm that he was on the team).

I would have really liked to see Stoudermire stick around, he looked like a natural fit at CB and he was a good return man. I actually thought, with a good sr season, he would get NFL looks. It's a shame he didn't stick it out (or get the requisite grades to stick it out).

Stoudermire is a good CB-in-training and should stick around. I think he has a chance at the next level as an Allen Rossum kind of player, but he needs more experience in the defensive backfield to do that.

UPDATED, looks like Devon is enrolled for Spring:

Edwards and Stoudermire will absolutely be missed next fall but if this is all we loose to academic attrition, during a year with a mid-season coaching change, we really can't be to upset. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that Stoudermire will find his way back onto the field.

I am content if Edwards, Allen, Tatum and Stoudermire are the only guys who quit. I remember reading a blurb about June Jones taking over at SMU and losing some "star" players and people getting upset about it. If Kill turns the gophers around as fast as Jones did SMU, we'll forget all about these guys. I'm sure after Spring we'll lose a few more.

Also, sounds like Troy is in town with the rest of the guys. So either OneStop isn't up to date or he is one of the guys possibly going through academic review?? My guess is that he is fine and OneStop isn't updated.

I hope so, Troy could really have a breakout season.

Out of the four names mentioned as leaving, I would want Troy to stay if I could pick. I really think he could anchor the def. backfield.

Other than Marquis, Troy is the most fun player to watch on the team; both good and bad. He gets some bone head penalties and such; but we has that ball in his hands on kickoffs it is fun to watch.

I hope that your information is correct and he is here. I suspect it is.

With Kill in charge the bone head and showboating penalties will be significantly reduced. If Troy doesn't comply his playing time is likely to be substantially less than he desires.

If some of the rumors on Edwards are true, i don't blame him for getting out of town. I think most of his issues are off the field and I don't see the new staff putting up with him for long even if he stays. Not sure why he wouldn't go NFL draft route, he may only be a 5th or 6th rounder but at least that gives him a shot.

Not a chance that he is drafted. There is a good chance that there is no NFL season in 2011, and I heard somewhere the draft may be changed to a 3-4 round affair. We might be watching a lot of UFL/CFL games next year with current NFL players. Everyone else will be playing indoor football in Spokane or Laredo...

I don't think Kill had anything to do with tatum leaving.
