TBH I think this hire really is going to come down to Coyle being invested in doing a thorough search and having a real plan.
Whoever we hire cannot go the Ben route of trying to have 3 or 4 or his starters each year be low major portal players. Banking on a bunch of those guys hitting is just insane, one or 2? sure.
With the revenue sharing the hope has to be that money will go to RETENTION. Don't worry about trying to battle for a bunch of transfers. Get a coach that wants to build something stable and has the coaching and connecting ability to do so.
To have any success we have to focus on getting players like Asuma and developing them. While Coyle has to do his part to make sure we can afford to keep them.
More teams are already starting to realize the key to retention. Even the rich and big programs are struggling with 1 year "pay to play" guys, a lot more misses than hits. So its crazy when you are a program that cant even get the top choices.
