I understand A&M's frustration with UT - that's no different than the other schools if the conference and is amplified by rivalry, proximity, being a part of the same school system, etc.
That said, I don't fully understand the outrage of A&M's fanbase against the administration at the school for not going to the SEC. Obviously, I don't know what happened in meetings between the school and conference officials, but it sure doesn't appear A&M was ever offered a spot in the SEC, so the story is basically A&M explored options to go to the SEC and there wasn't an option so they stayed with the Big XII. It certainly doesn't appear there was an opportunity to jump to the SEC and A&M opted not to, though if someone knows otherwise, please correct me.
