Tyus Jones was good for 19 in a loss against ranked Eden Prairie last night. I'm really looking forward to following this kid as he progresses through the prep ranks. It's been about 15 years since we've had a prodigy come through Minnesota.

As bizarre as the El-Amin clan seemed at times, it was a lot of fun following him when he burst on the prep scene as a frosh at North. I like seeing an El-Amin in the box scores now for the Polars and always look for his line in the Strib, he got 6 last night.

I plan on making an effort to get to an Apple Valley game this winter. I hope he continues to grow and get better. I really hope he chooses to stay at Apple Valley, gets good grades, and is able to avoid the drama that seems to follow a lot of star preps. I wouldn't mind hearing reports of him wearing Gopher gear also.

Ran into his father at a Buffalo Wild Wings last week and he said that Tyus definately will be staying at Apple Valley. He said the reason Jadee left to DeLaSalle was because at the time they thought Appley Valley lacked the diversity they wanted there son to experience but that has changed now.

On another note, his little brother a 4th grader hit the layup, free throw, three pointer, and half court shot at half time in 30 seconds!

Only more to come from the Jones family!
