86.5%

Not a mention of this in the game thread today, but the gophers shot 32/37 from the free throw line today.

EIGHTY-SIX PERCENT

It truly is a new era.
What sorcery is behind this proficiency?

Doubt there is data to back it up but would kind of make sense I guess since guys would be relaxed in a blowout since the pressure would be a lot lower. But I doubt there is much difference.

All I know is shooting such a high percentage on such high volume almost assures us that no future announcer will mention:

"This team struggles at the line; they currently rank last in the Big Ten and near the bottom of Division 1."

And that's a win for me.

Of many frustrations I had with our previous regime, the poor/inexcusable FT shooting was at - or near - the top. It is about practice, teaching, repetition, emphasis, and especially accountability for making it happen.

I’m inhaling fresh air by cubic meters!

Wow!!! Can it really be coached? 🤔

Was curious when was the last time they went to the line 37 or more times.
It was 12-20-2020 against St Louis with 41 attempts and 34 makes.
They had quite the stretch of getting to the line in 4 straight games.
They went 33, 44, 32 and the 41 mentioned.
Last time they had a higher percentage at the line was last season against UCLA
It was Dawson Garcia hitting 11 of 12 and Parker Fox 1 of 1 for 92.3% in a win on the road.
