Per Tony:

1. Darius Taylor leads the Big Ten in rushing

2. Drake Lindsey plays in a high-pressure situation

3. Aireontae Ersery develops into a first-round pick

4. Koi Perich scores a touchdown

5. Elijah Spencer scores 10 touchdowns

Go Gophers!!

let's see if Spencer can catch 10 passes first. in 2023 Spencer caught 9 passes for 65 yds & 3 TD. long catch of 15 yards. Gopher receivers had a total of 16 TD receptions, led by Daniel Jackson with 8.

so predicting that the #2 WR (on paper) will have 10 TD's is taking a real leap of faith that the Gophers will be throwing the ball a LOT more in '24.

My (not so) bold prediction is Spencer will not catch 10 TD but will have over 30 receptions.

There is a reason the piece is titled bold predictions and not safe predictions.

Ersery is already mocked numerous places as being a first rounder. Don’t know if that (or Taylor leading the B10 in rushing) are super bold other than hoping that Taylor stays healthy enough that’s an option.

Given the way Fleck uses his top backs, #1 certainly is possible if Taylor stays healthy.

If #2 happens, we might be operating under unfavorable circumstances.
Agree - I just dont think he'll be healthy enough. And if so that is still a tall task.

If DT is already hurt seems kind of stupid. Everyone knows what he is capable of doing. But then maybe it was a non contact drill.

Tony thinks Taco Bell’s hot sauce is bold

4 out of the 5 would be great. #2 is the only dicey one in the bunch because if we are turning to a true freshman in a high leverage situation that is probably not a good sign as to how the season is going.

10 TDs for Spencer is a pretty big stretch but would be awesome to see him break out and have a big year. He looked poised for big things in spring ball but was a non factor during the regular season. That said, our entire pass game was pretty much a non factor during the season so tough to say how much of it was on Spencer and how much was on the shakey QB play.

1. PJ Fleck signs another extension after the season.
2. Gophers beat either Michigan or Penn State.
3. NDSU upsets Colorado and gophers fans become nervous NDSU is better than them.
4. St Thomas turns down an offer to play Gophers because they don’t want to play down to their level.
5. Drake Lindsay starts week 3

WR Elijah Spencer is the big one because WR is unknown. Would be nice if he emerged.

Gophers need a guy who will first-things-first will not drop the ball in what looks like more shorter passes. Hands.

Darius Taylor, he miss how much time? Nobody knows. Maybe lead the B1G per-game when he plays.

Perich, maybe someone here can predict the secondary.
