Per the ticket office - They are currently at 45,601 of which 6,604 are student tickets. Let's fill the bank and get those other 6,924 seats sold and give our team a great home field advantage. It would be amazing to be undefeated at home this year!!!!

So we're looking at around 40,000 butts in the seats.

Leave your cameras at home for this one unless you have a hobby of taking pictures of empty seats.

Let's do this! I got immediate "yes" answers from the first two I asked to fill our group out. The excitement is out there. Share that awesome ESPN ad (did I just type that?) and get it pumped up!

side note-
I always LOL at the young media tweeting photos (usually from the climate controlled press box) of the crowd "X minutes before kickoff" to insinuate that there is a bad crowd for the event and who never seem to follow up with a shot from later when the lines to get in cool down. But on Senior Day, get there early please. The broken clock that is our media will accidentally be right to snap photos of the crowd X before kickoff this week.

I suppose someone might take pictures of the action on the field...

Ya, I find the Miami pictures to be quite funny. They take a picture when 200 people are in the stands but then forget to post the one with 40,000 people.

The local writers here did the same thing for the Michigan game. Took pictures when the student section was empty and then it was full shortly after kickoff.

With the current capacity sitting at 52,500 I am actually a little surprised that the game is not closer to being sold out at this point.

Nods head.

If it's a real story, the truth will do. No need to have your thumb on the scale to make sure that we stay on pre-written narrative. The funny thing is, the truth is bad enough in Miami and here. There is no need to show an empty stadium before kickoff on Saturday, whatever seats (aside from the astonishingly stupid amount reserved for students who don't want them) that are empty during the meat of the game will be story enough.

40,000 butts in the seats? I think more than that. The weather is actually getting better. A dusting of snow late afternoon. High of 27. Everyone I know that has tickets is going. The game is starting too
ramp up interest.

Better does not mean good. Casual fans don't go sit outside in the teens to watch football. Luckily I'm not a casual fan and don't care how cold it is.

I'm told every time attendance comes up that the team needs to "start winning" before people will come to games. Maybe some day The team will start winning and Kill will lead them to a bowl game. The stadium will fill up pronto.

The last time the team played in a Big Ten game that mattered was 2003 vs Michigan. The stadium was packed and rocking. What is different this time? I can think of 3 excuses. 1, that team had 0 bad losses to date/hadn't fed the doubters. 2, that was a night game. 3, this game will be in the cold.

I'm going, everyone I know who goes to games is going, so not sure the problem. Bundle up appropriately and these kind of games are really fun.

Big Ten game that mattered? Wisconsin last year ring a bell?

How about Iowa LAST WEEK? Plenty of open seats last week.

I think coach Kill just mentioned that the Epilepsy Foundation of MN bought 1300 tickets for the game.

They all matter and in particular the B1G games and especially the WI and IA games. I laugh when I hear "I'll start going to games when they start winning." I'm no mathlete but I'm pretty sure 7-2 is a winning record. I saw on another thread someone saying if only we were 8-1, this game would be a sellout. He!!, if we were 8-1, that same person would be saying if only we were 9-0. And if were 9-0, they'd be saying only if we had played somebody good... it never ends. I don't care about the butts that are not there. I only care about the ones that are there.

Go Gophers!

Thank you Epilepsy Association!

To everyone else, please remember the Epilepsy Association on "Give to the Max Day."

Unfortunately, my arthritis laden body can't make it, so you don't care about people like me who have been Gopher fans longer than you are old, pup.

Just because we can't be there doesn't mean that we don't yell and scream and cheer and spin ruppertflywheels!!!

I'll be sitting in my nice warm house in AZ watching the game. Have fun guys! I'll be thinking of you! :D

Quite a few tickets have been posted on the Ticket Exchange for the game. "Erica" seems to have a "bleep load" of them.

Went to my first game in the late 60's and have been attending games regularly since the 70's. Maybe when I'm 115, I'll appreciate what you're saying ;-)

You know I am not one of these - my pictures are usually during the 1st or 2nd quarter...1. Because it's fair, and 2. Because it's a rare day when I'm in my seat before kickoff, lol!

We do Don. I will be cheering extra loud on behalf of my neighbor, a WWII veteran, who can no longer attend games with me. We are frustrated with the 20 to 50 something year olds that are very healthy, but full of excuses.

There needs to be a culture change. Even the die hard fans are skeptical about winning these last three games. When bandwagon fans expect the team to win, they will come out in droves. It might take winning the big ten or getting highly ranked and sustaining it for us to get there. And we need to do it regularily before "gopher nation" is going to come out rain/snow/shine.

Is there still 10,000 student tickets available for each game? If that is the case and there are over 3,000 unsold, do they not open those up at some point to sell? All the sections in the upper deck in the student section still show as sold out.

It also doesn't appear like a whole lot of Ohio St. fans will be there.

The team needs to be better for a ton of people to buy in. That isn't a culture change, that is a quality change. One could argue there has been a quality change. But there has not been a ton of evidence to prove it due to who the gophers have beaten.

There is a reason most people anticipate an 0-3 finish.
I think they sneak one out and finish 1-2.

The big ten opponents minnesota has beaten are 10-19 against P5+Independent competition.
All opponents minnesota has beaten are a combined 10-25 against P5+independent competion.
