Yes. They hired the wrong guy imo. But now we'll see if he can build a program at a major. He had Carlston to thank for OU success. Marquette's success came from Bond, although Ryan was there a long time and maintained it.
 




I know you don't like the transfer portal Ruffda but we need a couple pieces to complete our roster. Hopefully we do a little poaching soon.
 

I always love how they love their teammates and the glorious years they spent at their present school but have decided to movie on.

Translation: someone else offered me more money and bought out any friends I made here. 🙄
 

My favorite is when they talk about praying about it. Not going to discount anyone's faith but I really think God has more important things to worry about than college volleyball.

It's one thing to go after players after they are in the portal. It's another to go after them before. I have my suspicions about players who commit simultaneously with their entrance. See Carter Booth.

And, yes, I hate the portal. The Gophers need a backup setter (not a starting setter). That is all they need unless they don't like the players they recruit (and why would that be)?

The portal is ruining all college sports. Just look at the first team AA list. Look at all the players who jumped teams. It's disgusting. I know there are exceptions, but too many of them are just chasing trophies.
 



I know for a fact teams went after Barnes before she decided to transfer. And that was BEFORE the portal became a huge thing. It's an ethical failure on both sides of the transaction. And it has to make you wonder how much you can count on them AND how much of the problem with the previous team was the player herself.
 

Who is Wisconsin lining up for 2026? Penn State (besides Stucky)? How many Gophers? That should be a bigger concern than who they might GET.

I think Sheffield has too many recruits coming in to go too crazy in the portal, unless he drives out a number of people (which I really wouldn't put past him). We'll start seeing today I guess.

He always has his eye on one big arm, regardless of who he already has. Lopez probably isn't enough. I don't think he has the patience for recruits. Certainly not domestic ones.

Fuerbringer is really good. I'll give him that. He stuck with her. And his libero, Simon, is also good.

Seems to be known in Madison that if you're not all-conference as a freshman, you should start looking around because you're going to get replaced by a transfer.
 



I honestly cannot comprehend how fans get behind one-season players. How is Mimi Colyer even remotely considered a Badger, just for one example. And she's close to half their offense to boot.

How many years does Hudson have left at UK?
 

Both Hudson and Chicone are seniors and should be one and done at their respective transfer schools. Apparently Sheffield already has a bingo from the portal, he wastes no time!

That's what I don't understand. Where is the money coming from? Wisconsin fans are claiming poverty in the major sports but they have all this money squirreled away for volleyball?

In theory, I don't care for what's going on either but, on the other hand, I was happy with Max Brosmer's year with the football team.

I thought Hudson had another year, but I could be wrong.

EXACTLY! Sheffield being one of, if not the worst, for transferring in players and who more than likely play the next season. You would think by now, with an ESTABLISHED PATTERN, Freshman shouldn't bother committing there in the first place. If I'm not mistaken, we are talking 4-6 players a season.

Wisconsin right now has listed 5 in their VT Thread who are in the portal. They claim they are mostly bench players...which is for the most part true. Chan DS/L visited Minnesota but chose Wisconsin. She probably would have been starting for us, but the LURE OF THIS PROGRAM and they just can't resist.
