2026 NHL Playoffs Thread

AI indicates those 2 black flags are the symbol for a hurricane warning.

Rather next level, IMO.
It was a joke

The Miami Hurricanes football team used to have that on their helmets.

OK. I was genuinely curious.

The only Miami logos I recalled are the "U" and the angry bird.

Carolina should reinstate this one:

Still criminal that they don’t use the best logo in the history of sports

Plus, they had the greatest song of all-time too

Toronto has won the ‘26 draft lottery and will pick first

Another goal for Marner. All those Leaf "fans" who blamed everything on Marner for Toronto's playoff failures are looking dumber and dumber each game. 5-0 Vegas in third and Marner with a natural hat trick and an assist

I’d say he’s been the surprise of the playoffs so far

Those stats were before he gave up a pair of meaningless goals in the 3rd but he's been very good.

Hart and Playoff Mitch have both been very good so far.

Mark Stone may have played his last shift of the playoffs after leaving the ice near the end of the 1st. Not clear what the injury is yet but there have been very, very tiny whisperings/rumors that he may be DONE done after this year, not playing out the last year of his contract next year due to injury and hang it up altogether, a la Alex Pietrangelo before him. Hopefully not, he's the only Captain the franchise has ever had

The color combo in tonight's Mighty Ducks/Golden Knights game is...yuck.

My eyes hurt.

Will this make your eyes any better?

I was going to refrain from posting this until I saw whether or not they won but alas....

I love this postseason for Marner. Just sticking it to the leafs morons who thought he was the problem

Kudos to the kid for figuring it out AND to the knights playing great team defense. Lots of loose pucks last night they boxed out. He was still objectively and subjectively terrible to start the postseason
Let’s see what he does against the Avs. I’m happy for him but it’s a different animal with Colorado. I’m going with Avs in 6

Vegas looked overall more convincing vs Anaheim, but I expect Colorado to be able to lock down Marner much more so than either Utah or Anaheim were able to. The advanced stats were not great for Vegas (Anaheim was better in Corsi % 57-43, Fenwick 57-43, but massively underproduced their scoring chances). Some of that is Hart, but much is also the team cleaning up high danger opportunities.

Agree Colorado is a wildly different beast (barring Makar is healthy and even without him, they're better than Anaheim and Utah). I would agree Avs in 6 probably is the most popular pick, but would not surprise me to see Colorado win in 5 or even sweep, especially if Stone is done as many are thinking he is

For everyone who was chest thumping that the 3 best teams were in the central, I'd be very interested to see either of Carolina or Montreal against Colorado and think its a better matchup than Vegas. Vegas is going to need someone to go nuclear to try steal this series and even that may not be enough. Both Carolina and Montreal have more depth/weapons to hurt you given current health status of the remaining teams.

I expect Captain Mark Stone to be out for the remainder of the playoffs. I just don't think there's any chance he's healthy enough to play. That's a massive loss for Vegas; aside from being the Captain, he just does everything really well. D-man Lauzon missed most of the Anaheim series, and while not a great loss, it does create what I really think is the only real hole for Vegas and that's the 3rd pairing Defense.

William Karlsson coming back for the Anaheim series after missing 60+ games was huge and it took him a decent chunk of the first half of the series to get up to speed. His return mitigates the loss of Stone to a degree.

The biggest weakness (arguably?) for the Wild, depth at Center down the middle, is most definitely NOT a weakness for VGK; Eichel, Karlsson, Tomas Hertl, and Nic Dowd are all more than capable, while Marner, Howden and Sissons are all capable of stepping in at Center.

I think it's going to be a heavyweight title fight, no doubt about it.

I think Vegas has the means to slow them down more, I just don't see them keeping pace scoring enough to win. Expecting way less 7+ goal games like we saw vs the Wild and things closer to how LA played Colorado with Vegas hoping they're going to cash their chances better than LA ever could

Per Russo, Vegas will forfeit a 2nd round pick in 2026 and Torts fined 100k for not meeting with the media postgame yesterday

2nd round pick is really over the top. I get the fine but the draft pick is kinda ridiculous.

Rumor has it, and I have ZERO clue if it's true, is the VGK were livid with the Brayden McNabb suspension for the hit on Poehling in Game 4 of the Anaheim series. The suspension was really excessive, it was essentially 2 games since he got booted about 2-3 mins into Game 4. The hit McNabb made on Poehling would have barely warranted 2 mins for Interference if Poehling weren't made of glass, with a lengthy concussion history.

That rumor doesn't jive completely with the "previously warned" storyline though. Who knows

Nothing like overtime in a game 7 and we have now with Buffalo and Montreal

Habs win it.

Dahlin just needed to get that puck deep instead of trying to create something inside the blue line
