2026 Gopher Recruits

I really don't understand the Adit Kuol offer; but, that's why I don't get paid the big bucks. Go Gophs!

If nothing else, she could become a situational rim protector against teams that are adept at driving. Best case, she does that plus offers some offensive capabilities and can make the rotation in sophomore year.

There is already a thread called "2026 Recruiting" that this duplicates.

. . .
ESPN has Natalie at #47 and Tori at #62
247 has Natalie at #26 and Tori at #36
Very nice start...

Interested to see if Kussow pops back up in the ESPN rankings this fall. Perhaps more than any other top 50 recruit in the '26 class, Kussow has moved down in several rankings. She went from 16 (January) to 20 (April) to 47 (June) in ESPN's ratings. She went from 18 (last winter) to 36 (July) in Prospects Nation's rankings. She went from 22 (May) to 35 (August) in ON3/Rivals' rankings.

Since her decline in ESPN's rankings, the ESPN ranker has included her on his list (top left box) of "2026 National Prospects who showed significant improvements this summer." Wonder if she is due for a ratings rebound.

For many Bigs, it is hard to evaluate their skills unless they have a high school team that is built around them or built on a strong defensive scheme. So many high school coaches focus on guards and three point shooting, unless they are stacked full of talent. College coaches need to evaluate them in person through their own viewing, using their own standards of what they are looking for.

I’m happy to eat my own words and apologize if I’m wrong; but, I’ll put money on the table that she doesn’t see playing time.

ESPN lists the class as #19 and has this writeup:

Minnesota stayed in the Midwest to lock in three skilled players and an interior depth piece.

Expect the three four-star recruits to assimilate well as efficient shooters.

A 5-10 lefty, Kussow is a shifty scorer who knocks down 3s and gets to the free throw line quite often. She had some epic scoring bursts on the Under Armour circuit this summer.

Oehrlein is a gritty guard with a sweet stroke. She's extremely competitive with a strong lower half that helps with her shooting consistency. She was arguably the best shooter on the Power 24 circuit each of the past two summers.

Paben is a stretch forward who wins on the glass with effort and is a confrontational defender. She has a knack for chasing down rebounds.

Kuol, a 6-4 center, is a Uganda native who now attends The King's Academy in Tennessee.

Kylee Paben #1
FUN KYLEE VIDEO I like that she can shoot 3's at 6'1 and also finish around the hoop...intriguing prospect.
Nice group!
This is the exact type player the Gophers need going in to the future, bigs that can shoot, rebound, and handle the ball. Excited to see Paben in maroon and gold next year.

Our version of Dirkette Nowitzki sounds good to me.

I'm encouraged by the 2026 recruiting class. There's a ton of talent coming our way.

Coach P says Koul is athletic and fast. Had an amazing 532 rebounds last year! She should know.

I looked at her videos and thought she looked pretty good. Of course they’re highlights but still it gives you an idea what she can do.
