2026 Gopher Rankings in Top 25

Today, Gophers were ranked #23 in the AP. I don't recall the last time we were ranked in February. So I thought it might be worth starting its own thread and hopefully we stay in top 25 until end of season. This is not meant to replace Bracketology thread, which has its own life :)
 


Hopefully, Google is correct in its search. The last time Gophers were ranked in Top 25 in February:

  • Feb. 21, 2006: Ranked #25 (Final Poll)
  • Feb. 14, 2006: Ranked #25
  • Feb. 7, 2006: Ranked #22

Pretty sure the Gophers were ranked in the AP poll for some of the season when Banham was injured and Zahui B was so good.

Yes, very possible. My interest in this thread was being ranked in February. We have been ranked earlier in prior seasons before dropping out by February.

The good thing is Gophers look like a legit Top-25 team now and hopefully can stay there. Last year pollsters were lazy and got fooled by their record from having an easy start to their schedule despite having a non-competitive loss against fringe-Top 25 Nebraska (like how Minnesota should've been ranked ahead of Princeton last week after they lost their first time to Columbia).
