2026-27 Summit Free Agents (updated May 27)

South Dakota 1st Team All-Summit League center Cameron Fens is out of eligibility but apparently is seeking another season of eligibility. I'll add him to the Yotes list just in case.

As expected, busy today so far. New adds:

North Dakota: Dom Clay & Riley Saunders

North Dakota State: Anthony Doppler & Ryan Erikson

Oral Roberts: Laymen McGrady

Saint Thomas: Nick Janowski

And a few more:

Kansas City: Trey Booker-Lowery, Jamaria Clark, Babacar Mbengue,

North Dakota State: Caleb Schoenrock

Omaha: Tony Osburn (seeking another year of eligibility)

Created another category for guys seeking an extra season of eligibility.

Also, now including stats only for free agents of some significance.

Ouch. Hopefully he stays out of Wisconsin.

Ouch. Why anyone that has no realistic chance of playing professionally wouldn't want a degree from UST is beyond me.

My niece is just finishing her junior year there and already has three (3) job offers waiting for her at $75,000+ to start along with paying for her Masters tuition.

Because this guy could possibly pull in that number with a 0 added to the end

Bubz Alvarez (SDSU) commits to Houston Christian, same place former Tommie Ahjany Lee transferred to.

Davidson has some Steph NIL money… he is just not athletic enough for power 4…. Good player just has some physical limitations

Not gonna' lie. This one is surprising, and it really stings. Oosterbaan a really solid, underrated player for the Tommies.

Tommies now have only two returning starters (Austin Herro & Carter Bjerke), and there's still more than 11 hours remaining in the portal. Not to mention, Bjerke likely graduates this spring (if he hasn't already) and would be able to transfer later this spring/summer.

Even losing Nolan Minessale, Isaiah Johnson-Arigu, and Nick Janowski, I thought UST still would be competing for a Summit League title. Now, that just doesn't seem likely. Johnny Tauer and staff have their work cut out for them filling in a roster that is going to require at least 2 "dudes", All-Summit League type players.

I'll say it again. ... life as a low- or mid-major in this new Wild Wild West era sucks.
