Yes. And the # of teams with $$ isn't huge. He should at least get $1 million or so, but it would seem we have that available.Do we think Niko saved enough NIL money to be competitive for Dawson should he receive another year of eligibility?
I agree, would love to see some sanity and consistency back in the area of eligibility at the very least in this chaotic environment. As a fan, I'd really like to see the college eligibility rules restored back to five (5) years regardless of injuries and/or the use of a RS season.
With that said, adding Dawson to our current roster would exponentially grow our enthusiasm and expectations for the upcoming season. It's been way too long of a wait to feel that way again about this program.
I haven't seen anything about it one way or another. That said part 2.....wasn't his case already ruled on and denied?

Forgot about this. But given they just gave a waiver to a guy who "only played 11 games" in one season, his attorney has a good point about having no standards for when they grant waivers. Garcia played 16 in his year at UNC. I guess the magic # is between 12 and 15?"The NCAA has denied his request and his appeal," Garcia's attorney, Darren Heitner, told Gophers On SI. "We are now exhausting efforts directly with the NCAA before potentially escalating this matter to litigation."

NCAA denies Dawson Garcia's request for one more year; legal action possible
An attorney representing Minnesota Gophers star forward Dawson Garcia is considering legal action against the NCAA in an effort to grant Garcia with one more yewww.si.com
Would certainly seem like this would probably help Garcia's case but who knows. 16 is over 50% of the regular season so they could use that as their mythical cutoff line I guess.Forgot about this. 8/5 with 3 turnovers in a loss to UST… two year ago
Looks like another body to bang for a few minutes if called on. Only being 228 pounds at 6'9 is concerning, especially if they want him to play in the low post. For reference Vaihola is 260 at 6'8 and Turner is 265 at 6'10.Would appear to be more of a body than anything else, which is understandable in June. But kudos to him for going from JUCO to mid-major, to high major. Likely a hard working player.
True and it is frustrating but I would also bet it isn't something unique to us as I am sure lots of teams have lingering and pre-season injuries to deal with on a yearly basis.Seems like every year they start with an injury concern. Tyler Cochran missed all last year, Garcia missed time the year before. Parker Fox…….
