2025 Minnesota High School Football Thread

Lower divisions would probably get offended by having a C or D next to their division when the big Schools get an A. :)
I'm almost positive that's the reason. And it's a stupid one, but typical.
To be fair, we aren't the only state that does this.

Im guessing you were joking, but you are probably right... and if that's the case its the first and only time that MSHSL has listened to a concern from class A, since the district scheduling has gone in to effect there are several class A teams playing 3 games a season vs class AA while they have some class AA teams playing almost an entire class A season. Just go look at 2023 and 2024 seasons from pillager and staples motley, and the scary part is pillager was granted thier appeal to play down in class AA

Other sports were A and AA, so they switched football to reflect that format. The B, C, D designation was for sure part of the reason they did it. They were adding a class and didn't want it to be D, so they switched to A, AA, AAA, AAAA, AAAAA, 6A came later. Other sports have added AAA, and AAAA.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Alexandria for blowing out Elk River 52-16 in 5A last week. You dont see Elk River getting Mercy ruled very often.
