2025-26 College Football Coach Fired/Hired Thread

Saw a story on Kelly that his offenses struggle when he doesn't have elite athletes at skill positions. It'll be interesting to see what he does with the caliber of athlete at Northwestern.
Well, they did have that one WR.

Where it was a comical thing of, the guy literally is their guy who catches the ball ... we knew that ... and he still got a ton of catches anyway.

They did also have that other receiver who had a career day against us. The one whose legs looked like twigs.

Damn. Michigan just made the perfect hire. Jason Beck as the new OC. His offenses are so tough to stop. What he did at New Mexico and Utah is A+ stuff.

Midwest OL and TE's recruiting will be in his back yard now and with NIL.$$ for the defense and QB, RB, and WR spots, Michigan is going to be really really good really really quick.
Another Mormon guy who played (and coached some) at BYU!

I hope Michigan players are ready to sign an honor contract .... and get lectures every fall camp and spring ball about alcohol, drugs, and premarital sex ...

They got that same preseason lecture from Moore, but it was to encourage all those behaviors.

There are different types of Mormons just like there are different types of Catholics and Lutherans. I doubt this guy is heavy handed with anything related to religion or conduct compared to his peers.

He's announced that he's in the portal ...
Be curious as to people's thoughts about intra-conference transfers.

I think they should have to sit out a year.

That's my magical thinking, by the way, I'm not interested if such a rule could be legal in the current framework. I'll pretend it would be worked into a magical collective bargaining agreement, and leave it at that.

Please don’t make excuses. There’s nothing wrong with teaching young men to abstain from those things

Simple HS scheme: "Cover that guy, blanket him, he's not going to beat us." Complex college scheme: while players try to figure out and coordinate their responsibilities, that guy is always open and beats you like a drum.

That’s not how free agency works. Those were the days went they.

I already said I get to dictate the terms. :)

Magical collective bargaining agreement. I'm just saying, I want such an agreement to say that you have to sit out a year if you transfer within conferences. Would you agree with that?

No. I just want guys that want to be Gophers and don’t care where they come from.

Maybe with these low scoring playoff games some teams will fire offensive staff, and we can pickup some ...
