2025-26 College Football Coach Fired/Hired Thread

By the way, I wonder what it is going to feel like for April next year having to sit there and keep your mouth shut as a not even head/main DL coach, but just a "rush ends" coach, when last year you were calling a P4 defense ... while you sit there having to listen to Danny Collins call another 3 man rush?

Nobody put a gun to his head to take the job

Of course not. He needed a job and took our offer voluntarily. That was never in question.

And then, my comment still applies.

He'll have to grit his teeth and bear Collins as the DC, when he knows he could probably do a better job.

Maybe part of April’s duties will be as an advisor for the DC Danny Collins.

Not sure the thoughts or opinions of a former defensive coordinator of a team that went 3-9, 3-9, and 4-8 over the past three years under his watch matters. He should be worrying about improving upon his own failures, not comparing his capabilities to a DC who led the defense of an 8-5 team in a superior conference.

A Morman kid through and through who has never coached the last 40 years outside the state of Utah or southern Idaho, Morman strongholds .... is going to up and go across the country to clean up Michigan in extremely liberal Ann Arbor?

Hmm ...
On the other side Utah could hire Moore and then he can have as many wives as he wants.

You dont know what his roll is...and what makes you think he could do a better job? His record at Stanford stinks.

All the decent coaches left PJ for many reasons. No decent coach dont seem to want to come here. Now he gets bottom barrel coaches. Whats his problem?

This is a wild one.
Seems like a great get on paper.
But he has bounced around after leaving LA (who wanted to fire him was the rumor).
Hasn’t been one year anyways.
Rumors he didn’t know his own plays this year for the raiders.

If he is 80% of what he was 3 years ago this is the best coordinator hire of the year a the P4 level.

Agree, Raiders are a dumspter fire. Wildcats are not messing around.

I’d keep an eye on tOSU backup from South Dakota to be Northwestern starter next year.

Saw a story on Kelly that his offenses struggle when he doesn't have elite athletes at skill positions. It'll be interesting to see what he does with the caliber of athlete at Northwestern.

This is behind a paywall so I don’t know any details but it piqued my interest.
