Nominally, at a job that he had held for over 45 years. Not sure how that's relevant to the discussion of the likelihood of Penn State seeking to hire Ferentz or Ferentz wanting the job. He's in his 70s, he's coached at Iowa for decades, can stay as long as he likes and they would be asking him to start over at a school where winning 37 games over your last 3 1/2 seasons isn't enough to keep your job.Wasn't Joe Paterno still coaching til like age 85?
As it seems that the search is spiraling out of control, maybe Penn State would get to the point where they are desperate enough to try to hire someone to provide some stability and get down that list far enough to get to Kirk. But why would he possibly want that job at this point in his career?
