We are a few days away. Prediction time:

- Pohlad Family. Seems obvious which isn't Pat's style, but they absolutely deserve this award this year.
- Mark Coyle. If Pat cared more about Gopher mens basketball this would be an ideal candidate, but not sure Pat cares enough, sadly.
- Jordan Addison getting a DUI months after a teammate was killed by a drunk driver.
- Kirk Cousins - may get a mention.
- The Wild Franchise - the hot start this year may stave them off from the brutal season last year.

Go Turkey of the Year Award!!

The Wild "won" last year. Joe Pohlad is the obvious choice, don't think anyone in sports (with local ties at least) had a worse year from a public perception standpoint.

Joe Pohlad was the first name that came to mind. I would also give him 2nd and 3rd Place.

Other directions he could go: Aaron Rodgers for lots of reasons, Tim Connelly (but it's too early to declare this year's team a total failure) or the WNBA for the shady business in the finals.

Reusse does not like to go with the obvious choice, so I am going to say that it won't be the Pohlads.

he's been talking a lot about the Wolves, so I will go with -- the KAT Trade as the Turkey deal of the year, because it made both teams worse.

other items that will be mentioned in the article:

*excessive player celebrations in Football
*leagues moving games to streaming and making them hard to find on TV
*the new NFL Kickoff rule
*NIL and transfers making college sports less fun to watch

Other directions he could go: Aaron Rodgers for lots of reasons, Tim Connelly (but it's too early to declare this year's team a total failure) or the WNBA for the shady business in the finals.
Good call on the WNBA officials/commissioner. They deserve it. That title was stolen.

Go Gophers!!

I know Reusse doesn't like to go the obvious route but it has to be Joe Pohlad with Coyle a very close first runner up.

The Frost (if that's the name) will be at the table for bouncing Natalie Darwitz.

Here's a real long shot Turkey winner: GopherHole!! He loves to pound on us, he loves Nadine and we are everything that is wrong with the social media side of sports.

What could be a less obvious choice??!!

Timberwolves, guaranteed Turkey of the year.
The Owner of the company Reusse works for also owns the Timberwolves (at least for now), so I find the that choice to be rather unlikely.
