Wild fans bitch about the refs Game 1, Wild fans bitch about the refs in Game 2.... Classic....

I'm unconcerned at this point. One thing worth noting though.... VGK fans, if there's anything they don't like about Cassidy is the constant need to shuffle lines. It happens during the regular season all the time but I thought it was set for the postseason. And yet early in the first period, he yanks Barbashev off the top line with Eichel and moves him to the 4th line, and moves Howden from the 4th to the top line. WTF....

Okay, I just watched the replay. I stand corrected. The scuffle started with Ek sucker punching Barbashev, not Hague.

But again, this notion of people "going after" Kaprizov.... get over it. Hague was being held by the ref, Kaprizov was behind the ref and Hague stuck his hand out and bopped Kaprizov on the nose. Kaprizov goes down like LeBron.....

That's why I said "if". Dallas (Suter) went after him 2 years ago in the playoffs and so have other teams. There is precedence. And there is also precedence for nobody righting the wrong - to my disappointment. I would have brought a career minor leaguer up in the first meeting last season and paid him $250K to give Suter a career-ending injury.

Ek didn't sucker-punch anyone. The only sucker-punch was Hague to Kaprizov. Were I the refs, I would have probably assessed no penalties, but the only thing that may have warranted one, was to Hague. He didn't face wash him. He punched him. Sorry.

You clearly haven't ever been involved in one of these after-the-whistle skirmishes. When you have guys grabbing, pushing, shoving, you aren't always in control of your ability to remain on your skates.

I think with 4:30 left in the game, with Vegas already down by 2 goals, the refs made the right call - no call. But if there's more after our superstar and they don't call it, I go after Eichel.

I liked it better when you just gave us unsolicited recitations of what you bet on, as boring as that was. Angry Las Vegas Knights fan is worse.

You clearly haven't ever been involved in one of these after-the-whistle skirmishes. When you have guys grabbing, pushing, shoving, you aren't always in control of your ability to remain on your skates.

Who's angry? I've watched this team through a lot of postseasons and a lot of runs deep, deep into the playoffs. Sweeps are very, very rare in the NHL postseason. They played a really bad 15 mins of hockey in the first period last night and it cost them. Nobody in that building is pushing the panic button, we've been down this road before, against much better teams.

Sorry, referencing some comments online, most notably (regrettably) the comment sections in The Athletic. At least there, Wild fans are insufferable. Most of them were losing their minds after Game 1 when there was no cross-check called on Hague with Hartman, after Hartman put his stick in Hague's skates, pulled his feet out from under him tripping him, and then cross-checked Hague in the back.

On to Game 3!!

A lot of Wild fans do have a persecution complex I have no problem admitting that. There's also a reason Vegas and all 12 of their fans are one of the most universally hated teams in the league.

You're a good guy Ogie, I enjoy most of your posts around here and the other message boards. You're a massive homer for VGK, most of us here are massive homers for the Wild, and tensions are always high in the playoffs. I'm keeping expectations on the ground and hoping they somehow shock me. Either way it will probably be a tense next week or so on this message board and then life will move on. I will root for the Knights if they move on, not necessarily because I like them, but I will be out in Vegas around the time the cup finals are going on and it would be cool to be there for that. Best of luck, and as you said, on to Game 3!

Guilty as charged, yes, a massive homer and ST holder since Day 1. As I've said with many folks, if you're in town and there's a game, I'd be more than happy to take you. Yes, I would even take Jake to a game if he wanted to. I enjoy taking people to the games and it wouldn't be the first time I've entertained people from the board (the caveat is usually just that they keep it to themselves).

I'm flying up next Wed/Thur for a long weekend with a crew from HS; I'm really hoping the series is resolved either way by the weekend or it will be a tense weekend, I take plenty of shit from most of them about VGK as it is. Calling Vegas "the Fighting Bettmans" is always my favorite, like the commissioner rigs things for Vegas to be good. Funny, funny....

I'm a homer but it doesn't ruin my life when they lose. My take if Vegas loses to Minnesota (as it was against Dallas last year in Round 1) is that it will save me a lot of money. Deep playoff runs cost a shitload of money, each round costs me a good $7-10k.

It certainly seems like it's Panic at the Disco for you. There's not a single Wild fan here that believes we're the better overall team but thank goodness you're here to stand tall for Knights fans everywhere.

We get it....Hague is the victim and KK is soft. How about the blatant, cowardly slew-foot by Doroyerev on JEE? Please discuss, Angry Ogee....tell us all how Ek victimized the kid into using the cheapest shit tactic in the game. Thanks.

Nothing is rigged but I'd be lying if I said I don't hold a small amount of bitterness for the fact that VGK got more friendly expansion draft rules than the Wild/CBJ did. But VGK, the fans, and the players don't need to apologize for that, and it has been almost 8 years since then anyway. I understand why the league did it. Love them or hate them, Vegas has been a very well run organization from day one, the city is freaking awesome and the games are really fun.

EXACTLY!!! Not much better than NHL playoff hockey!! I definitely need to stop reading the comments in The Athletic regarding this series. The nutjob Wild fans on there are in no way indicative of the ones on this board, so it's best to just leave that there. It's a cesspool. Great discussion here on this series and playoffs in general. It's going to be a good series, I think everyone thought it would be.
 

Landeskog back in the starting lineup for the Avs tonight after being out since June of 2022. Talk about perseverance rehabbing his knee for that long. He has said there were days if it was even worth it because he had so many setbacks. But here he is back in an Avs sweater.

He alone is worth the admission to a game

Vegas is going to come out tonight with both guns a blazin. Wild need to get through the onslaught of the first 10 minutes or so and if they do they have a chance tonight. Puck drops at 8 and I can't wait to see what transpires
 


Nate Schmidt just scored his third goal of the series to put Florida up 1-0 early. He had 5 goals all season and none in the last 22 regular season games. He's currently outscored the entire TB team
