For sure...huge game. It's truly white knuckle time if they lose.Big game tonight in Calgary. If the Wild can win in regulation they clinch a wild card spot
Yep. If they lose tonight in regulation and Calgary goes on win their next 3 the Wild would have to beat the Canucks and Ducks to get in.For sure...huge game. It's truly white knuckle time if they lose.
They can win in any fashion. Regulation, OT or shootout will get us in.Big game tonight in Calgary. If the Wild can win in regulation they clinch a wild card spot
Even betterThey can win in any fashion. Regulation, OT or shootout will get us in.
That was cool.Wild win in OT! And Blues lose in OT. So we’re a point ahead of them in the standings with one game left for each team.
I would say they are in but then again this is Minnesota pro sportsWild win in OT! And Blues lose in OT. So we’re a point ahead of them in the standings with one game left for each team. We’re in the playoffs if we win our final game, or if the Blues lose their final game, or if the Flames lose any of their three remaining games.
The Faber-Buium pairing should be special moving forward and both excel on the PP, too. We traded our 2025 FRP for Juricek and that appears to have been a waste of a high pick thus far.Let the Zeev Buium era begin!
If at the end of the season we're tied with either the BLues or the Flames, we win on the tirebreaker - most regulation wins (and the second tie breaker as well, which is winning in OT prior to shootouts happening). So, if we get a point in our last game we're in the playoffs; or if the Blues lose their game (in OT or not, doesn't matter); or if the Flames lose either of their two remaining games (again, in OT or not, doesn't matter). Turning it around, the only way we don't get into the dance is if we lose our last game in regulation, the Blues win their last game, and the Flames win both of their remaning two games.Wild win in OT! And Blues lose in OT. So we’re a point ahead of them in the standings with one game left for each team. We’re in the playoffs if we win our final game, or if the Blues lose their final game, or if the Flames lose any of their three remaining games.
Wild best take care of business with what they can control.
Utah has nothing to play for in regards to the Blues and is coming off a back to back. Vegas has already clinched the division so wouldn't be surprised to see them rest everyone. Strong possibility LA has nothing to play for come that final game if they beat the Oilers tonight so wouldn't be shocking to see them sit guys as well.
Calgary's schedule looks rough on paper, but the actual team they may play may be full of AHLers
yeah i guess not saying they have the whole AHL squad up, but that a Vegas missing 2-3 of Eichel, Hertl, Stone, Barbashev or skating very light minutes (same goes for Hanifin, Theodore on the backend) is a wildly different team to play. For a variety of reasons, NHL teams really can't rest a lot of people on a given night. Vegas will rest a couple of players in each of the next two games, but that's about it.
Hertl was out for a few weeks and just returned, he doesn't need to rest; Eichel has been out for a few days, resting a small injury he had been playing with for the previous couple weeks; Pietrangelo has been out with an "illness" but for his age, that has likely been just resting before the playoff run, especially since Vegas has 8 defensemen they can comfortably play any night.
Heard an interesting podcast (yes, a VGK pod) talking about the possible playoff matchups, do they prefer Minnesota of the Blues. Interesting take, said the Minnesota roster is better than the Blues, but the Wild coach, Hines, is the dumbest HC in the NHL right now. An abysmal playoff record (4-15 I think), and clueless behind the bench. Not sure if I'd go that far but then again, I like Cassidy matching up against most other NHL HC's right now.
