2024-25 Wild Season

We still control our own destiny, but so does Calgary. For Calgary to get in, they need to win three more of their remaining games than the Wild win. If we win say two out of our five remaining games, then Calgary needs to win five of their seven remaining games. I didn't take OT into consideration -- too many options when you factor those into the equation. Bottomline, I'd rather be in our position than theirs.

It's okay to say it. Come on, you can do it, just for this late game tonight...

GO KNIGHTS GO!!!!

One point for Calgary with a 3rd period comeback (probably should’ve won in regulation) and Vegas gets a gross one in ot to win

That’s not controlling their own destiny. But the data is interesting nonetheless.

How so? At the time I posted, if Calagary won all their remaining games then they were in the playoffs we'd be out of them. They controlled their own destiny.

I’m only going by the data you posted. But if Calgary needed to win three more games than the Wild and Calgary had seven games remaining and the Wild had five games remaining, what would happen if both teams won all of their remaining games?

Not the wild but ovi officially the most prolific goal scorer in the history of the league

Absolute rocket wrister followed by a belly flop dive celebration is magical

That would be impossible, they play each other on the 11th - only one team can win that game.

If the season ended today, the Wild and Montreal would each claim the last and final WC spot in their respective conferences.

Both teams are also the only teams that would be in the playoffs with a negative goal differential.

Not Wild related but Dallas had an epic collapse last night to Vancouver. First time in the history of this league that a team leading by 3+ goals in the final minute end up losing the game.

Hopefully it does not become wild related. Losing in regulation last night would’ve effectively closed the door on Vancouver and the playoffs. Now they’re still alive but barely

Wild control their own destiny. Obviously tonight is a must win over San Jose

Major reinforcements could be coming for the Minnesota Wild.

Head coach John Hynes said he's hopeful superstar Kirill Kaprizov and key center Joel Eriksson Ek can slot back into the lineup Wednesday against the San Jose Sharks, according to Star Tribune Sports' Sarah McLellan.

Kaprizov has been dealing with a nagging lower-body injury since late December, limiting him to just 37 outings this season. The ailment first sidelined him for 12 contests, and he returned for three matchups before hitting the shelf again for a lengthier 28-game absence.

Eriksson Ek, meanwhile, hasn't played since Feb. 22 - the Wild's first game after the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off - after suffering a lower-body injury in practice. He's missed Minnesota's last 21 contests.

The 28-year-old has totaled nine goals and 24 points in 42 games and is coming off two consecutive 60-point seasons. Minnesota has dictated 54.1% of the expected goals and 56.4% of the scoring chances while outscoring opponents 21-15 with the key two-way player on the ice at five-on-five this year, per Natural Stat Trick

I got JEK for 3+ SOG for tonight, f*cker better deliver.

As of right now (both the Wild and the Flames are still playing tonight's games), so do the Flames.

Edit: With the Wild win tonight, if the Flames win all their remaining games and we win all our remaining games except for the game against the Flames, we end up tied in points. I don't know who wins the tie breaker. The Blue's are also in the mix of battling for the last two spots.
