2024-25 Gopher Hockey Season

Thomas might still be out then. I can't remember a season with as grave an injury situation.
yeah glad it's the final series of the first half though a bummer it's MSU as it will be a huge B10 race implication series where a sweep would be put a gulf between us and everyone else. Hoping for a split and everything else is bonus. Luckily this one won't hurt at all in PWR either way given MSU will likely be finishing top 5-8 no matter how it goes though these games will go a long way in deciding who has the inside track to a 1 seed from the B10

Rumor is Coach Motzko has brought in a new assistant for the next series vs Michigan...
Good! We are now a few days distant from the Michigan goon fest. I thought my anger would have subsided by now but it hasn't. Still really PO'd that there weren't more severe consequences for that.

Huglen might be back this weekend.

Would be MASSIVE if so. We badly need the center depth

Even though the other six (6) forwards on these lines get a lot more acknowledgement, I thought Ziemer, Hendrickson and Middlestadt were true difference makers last weekend.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much skill they displayed to match their hustle and grit. Good stuff.

Man, would that be good news. Huge.

Apparently Pahlsson is at least back skating again. Hopefully that leads to an early second half return for him.
this is also excellent, excellent news. Would envision this means he's ready by the start of the holiday break. That coupled with Thomas isn't fully ruled out for the weekend yet means he avoided major injury as well. Even with all the injuries, at least none have been season ending caliber to this point.

all that said, feeling more and more optimistic regarding this weekend. Get it done Bob and let's keep the space between us and the rest of the pack in conference

Still not ideal to have basically 3 lines + an extra, but it's amazing how much more palatable this looks compared to the non-Huglen lineup.

Thankfully, we have good defensemen that can also put the puck in the net.

It would be great to have everyone available but I'm not making any excuses for this weekend. We've got a ton of very good college hockey players on this team.

Wood didn't make team Canada.. Either hurt or NCAA/CHL drama...

Gopher's puck skills are undeniable. They look fast and gritty. Airey looks under control. This is a very good team. Tomorrow is gonna be tough, though, because they're gonna be gassed if they keep up this effort.

How many guys are out tonight? Is it all injury-related?

Good first period. Not many offensive blue line turnovers.
Like the jerseys. Should have worn the gold breezers.
This is what I texted my Gopher friends: These Gopher jerseys would work better if their breezers were also grey.

Airey handles the puck well. I think we will have gas. It’s more about playing smart. I don’t think the Spartans 4th line is playing much.

Every minor hold is being called but the goalie getting hit on the head we can’t see. That no call changed the entire game.
