Will be interesting to see how ticket sales go for that with the Hawks selling out for the season. Iowa also plays at ISU so that should also be close to a sellout. Cyclones have great attendance but not sellouts. ISU inflates the attendance with all sorts of special season ticket deals (kids, groups etc) etc and it's usually among the top in the national at 9,000+ however the actual cheeks-in-the-seats at a game are more like 5,000 or so which would still be Top 10. It's a touchy issue with my Cyclone brethren but I cite the last NCAA March Madness game we hosted where attendance as 6,000.

Related to Drake and Twin Cities, St. Thomas will also travel to open their season at Drake. Later in N/C the Tommies will host both Iowa State and the Wisconsin Badger in St. Paul. Last time i rolled up I-94 to Fargo to watch ISU play a Summit League team, NDSU, there were only a few hundred folks in the stands but bet this game in here in the twin Cities draws better than that. Planning on popping over for that.

When South Dakota would play at either of the North Dakota schools, we would often have more fans than them. We always traveled very well, but they also draw terribly from their home fans.

The U of M system made a mistake with my season tickets. 1/3 of my Gophers tickets are UMD opponents.

LOL. Argh.

Well, I understand the last coaching regime arranged that, the team was starting over basically with good freshmen so make the schedule easier, and coaches need to pad the wins count when wins are hard to get.

But... maybe next year we can have more teams 150-ish instead of 1,500-ish.

Then again, the West Coast onslaught is coming...
