Do we just have to say and live with for Fleck "he's just going to lose 2 games that he shouldn't have lost every year, that's just what he is" ?
 


A few more I don't think were posted after Saturday:

Sports Illustrated: Duke's Mayo vs. Louisville
Action Network (McMurphy): Duke's Mayo vs. Pitt (prelim spread would be Minn -3, btw)
USA Today: Pinstripe vs. Syracuse
Athlon: Pinstripe vs. Pitt

Almost without fail, predictions now have PSU in Citrus, Iowa in Reliaquest, and Illinois in Music City (because PU can't go). Seems a lot are predicting MN will beat Wisc based on what I'm seeing, but considering the B1G can pretty much place teams wherever they want, it's tough to know. For example, McMurphy has PU in the Pinstripe, Wisconsin in the Guaranteed Rate, and Maryland in the Quick Lane. So I assume he's got MN at 8-4, but why would they jump Purdue? More to come after Saturday, but even then we'll be left guessing for a week as always, lol!

Last year:
Bowling green
Illinois
Also lost to Ohio state and to Iowa. Not sure I would say we should have beat iowa. Could have.

This year:
Lost to penn state
Purdue - were favored but were favored with people assuming Mo was playing and their QB wasn’t. Line would’ve been probably close to a pick ‘em.

Iowa - line was like 1.5. MN freshman playing his 3rd career start against a top 5 defense in the country.

Illinois - 4.5 line with their QB questionable


If that’s us losing two games we should win then almost every team in the country loses two games they should win. So yeah I guess you’ll have to accept that some years you’re going to lose games you’d like to win. If being a 1 point favorite means you “should win” then the Wisconsin coach will be a real failure if Mn beats them this week.
 


Charlotte is a better place in December than New York. Also, PJ will be covered with mayonnaise if he wins the game - worth seeing that.

If you watched the games, and not just the odds, you'd know which games. Purdue and Iowa were games we lost, more than they won. Play calling and the actual game has a lot more to do with "should've won" than odds.

I think he should never lose a game ever!

I disagree about Purdue. There aren’t many teams in the 20-50 range that would beat another team in the 20-50 range down their best two offensive players.

Vegas disagrees we should’ve beat Iowa. Teams were essentially a coin flip.

Seeing how the committee put LSU ahead of USC and Oregon ahead of Penn St, I am now much less confident that they won't absurdly screw over Penn St and keep them out of the NY6.

If that does come to pass, then I think we're looking at either the Quick Lane or the Pinstripe, as MG (I believe) put it well. Depending on what happens Sat in Madison.

Anyone who watched those games knows we should've won both.

Just read an interesting article about the possibility of both Mich and OSU making the CFP which would bump PSU into the Rose Bowl and everyone else up a spot (taking Detroit out completely). Wouldn't take much, and it's extremely likely if these things happen:
  • LSU loss to Georgia (committee LOVES LSU. Already ranked above a couple 1 loss teams)
  • USC loss to ND (OSU might make it in over a 1 loss USC, but you never know. Mich prob won't)
  • Clemson loss to SC or UNC (they have a weak resume, but you want as few 1 loss teams as possible)
  • Mich win over OSU (OSU win against ND is looking better each week - esp if they beat USC)
BTW, the article also randomly mentioned Minnesota since they're ranked 17 in SP and 21 in FPI but unranked in any poll (with good reason). Just found it odd they were mentioned.

If Georgia beats LSU

4 spots for
Georgia
Ohio state
Michigan
TCU
USC
Clemson

If Clemson and USC pick up a loss, it is 1 loss big ten team or 2 loss Bama/TN (with backup QB)

For big ten to get 2 in.
1) close game on Saturday and the winner wins the big ten title game
2) 2 of Clemson, USC, TCU pick up a loss…if it’s TCU it’s preferably in the Big 12 title game not in the last regular season game
3) Georgia beats LSU

A 2 loss conference champion has been left behind for a 1 loss non conference champion. (Ohio state went over penn state)
A 1 loss conference champion has been left behind for an unbeaten non conference champion (notre dame)

They have never selected a non champ over a P5 champ with the same record (which is why TCU’s loss would have to be in Big 12 title game IMO)
I have a hard time believing they would select a 2 loss non conference champ over a 1 loss non conference champ.
If LSU wins they aren’t IN, but they’re in before the loser of Ohio state Michigan maybe…history says they might not be.
