Offense showed up in a big way again tonight. 3 hits a piece for Terrin Vavra, Jordan Kozicky, Luke Pettersen, and Alex Boxwell. 5 RBIs for Micah Coffey 3 coming on a stand up triple with the bases loaded. Really good to see Jordan Kozicky have a nice night at the plate with the 3 hits including a homerun and just missed another homerun. Eli Wilson also added a homerun and it was a inside the park homerun as the centerfielder made a diving attempt and the ball rolled by him to the wall. Freshman Easton Bertrand made his first appearance of the season as he pinch hit in the 8th. Reggie Meyer started and struggled with location today. He went 2.1 innings and gave up 6 runs on 7 hits while striking out 3. He wasn't hit overly hard at all but the hits just seemed to find enough space. He was very unlucky on a 2 run homerun to left that looked like a very high medium deep popup but the wind was blowing out hard 25-30 mph to left at that time and the ball just kept drifting and landed barely over the fence. Brett Schulze came in and stabilized things. He got the win going 4.2 innings and allowing just 1 run on 2 hits walking 1, hitting 2 batters, and striking out 4. Josh Culliver pitched the final 2 innings and allowed 3 hits but did not give up a run.
