2017 College Football Head Coach Fire and Hire Thread

Duh. Was replying to hungan's assertion we were recruiting some of Grahams recruits "at AZ" and letting him know he had the wrong institution.

I forgot "State" in there.

How many coaching vacancies are there in D1?

Will we carry this one step further and put Scott Frost in Nebraska then?

Apparently Scott Frost's wife is from Scottsdale. I wonder if this could put Arizona State in play.

Now does Schiano try to hire anyone off of our staff, with close ties to several of them?

Uh, oh. If FL, UCLA and Tennessee have their guys, that leaves Nebraska for Scott Frost. If he takes it, we'll have another Wisconsin in our division in short order - which means we'd have to climb over Nebraska, Wisconsin, Iowa and Northwestern (and maybe Purdue) to win a West title.

But we have Fleck and they don't...

OR ... here's a shocker ... maybe Scott Frost is smart enough to realize that Nebraska is a career ender?

Expectations are ridiculously high there, for what is actually achievable, in this era, in Lincoln. It's the same program as Iowa, nowadays.

Would be very smart to not take that job.

Tennessee faithful apopletic. Not sure how Schiano is a HC in the SEC and Miles isn't.

I am definitely worried about Warriner. Someone may take a look at him for an OC position or a big school may open up their checkbook and top the $375,000 we are currently paying him as Offensive Line coach.

Would be a massive hit as we turn our sights to the 2019 class, specifically Carroll and Benhart.

Jimbo to Texas A&M

Seems likely, but I wouldn't exactly call one local reporter from Houston with 12,000 followers a reliable source. If it truly was a done deal a big, national reporter would've confirmed by now.

Perhaps they are still finalizing specifics and setting up the transition?

5 years / $7.5 million / year according to McIlvoy.
