2013-2014 Big Ten schedules announced at 11 am this morning

That's true, but because OSU-Michigan is an end-of-season game and it is a cross-division game, that means that there will always have to be at least one other cross-division game that week, so why not Minnesota-Wisconsin?

Because Illinois-Northwestern is also a cross division game.

...this team posts a 3-9 record in 2013, the Gophers will be playing in front of an empty stadium come 2014. This is why it is a flunk!

Just for saying this, you are on Highwayman probation. One more like this and you join the ignore list.

I think the Iowa-Wisconsin home-away issue is a direct result of Sconie being in the Pinecone Division. If they were with us in the Rocks and Sticks division, the home/away scheduling would be easier to manipulate.

Either way, it is fun having that big home schedule every other year!

Did you mean road schedule? The home schedule doesn't seem that tough to me. Michigan looks like the only tough home game, and that's only if they return to being "Michigan" over the next couple years.

I meant brutal for the fans, which is why I mentioned ticket sales and not wins.

It is a little to early to worry about who is on deck in 2014. Who knows if Kill will have it going by then. Gopher fans need to get over who we play at home for attendance. Does Wisconsin not fill up; Ohio State; Michigan. If you WIN people show up no matter who you play. Look at last year we had Iowa at home - and NO ONE SHOWED up because Minnesota was not a good football team. Everyone is focused on the wrong issue.
I do agree that having them all on the road in one year is tough, no doubt. But I am sure we had to sell our soul one way or another to keep our rivals and play Nebraska.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about the 2014 home schedule at this point. If we're a team that really is making a push to move into the upper half of the B1G at that point, then I don't think people will care a whole lot if we're playing teams like Northwestern and Indiana at home, they'll show up cause the product is quality. And if we suck, as we found out this year, it don't matter who's on the schedule, as we had one of the best last season and a bunch of those games were iffy on attendance at best.

The problem is that if we suck and have that schedule, the Bank will be a morgue. Hopefully it is a non-issue, so no sense worrying about it. I do hope they can find a way to shift at least one of Nebraska, Iowa and Wisconsin off the same year eventually though.

Yeah, but my point was, if we suck, it'll be a morge regardless. Let's not forget the classic shot GopherLady took from the Ohio State game:

I understand what you mean, but I think the product of our team FAR outweighs any reservation about opponents when it comes to fans purchasing tickets to watch.

Ahhhhhh- sorry will try to keep it positive. I really think we will be going to KILL THEM ALL in 2014.
Go Gophers:):):)

You are right about Penn State being an away game. This actually helps my argument. Some of us pay for premium seating and on paper the home schedule is not very exciting. We only have one team coming in that is considered a football power-Michigan. If this team posts a 3-9 record in 2013, the Gophers will be playing in front of an empty stadium come 2014.

Playing Michigan at home (not in the Big House, not in the HHH MetroBowel Chamber of Horrors) is always a good thing. We have not played Michigan at home in decades! In my mind, this will be a huge event. Wish I could be there.
