University of Minnesota head football coach Tim Brewster announced the addition of Western Michigan to the program's 2012 schedule Thursday. The move fills the final remaining non-conference opening over the next seven years in the Gophers' football schedule, which is now complete through 2016.
The Gophers will host the Broncos at TCF Bank Stadium on Sept. 15, 2012. Minnesota had previously agreed to face New Hampshire on that date. That game will now be played on Sept. 8, 2012.
"It's great that our schedules are set for the next seven years," Brewster said. "We are bringing outstanding opponents to TCF Bank Stadium each and every year and we are looking forward the challenge. Our fans are going to see some terrific match-ups and I couldn't be more pleased with how things have worked out."
Southern California highlights Minnesota's 2010 home non-conference schedule. North Carolina and Texas are slated to visit TCF Bank Stadium in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
