Announcers (ESPN2): Pam Ward and Ray Bentley are flat out awful!! It is painful to listen to then...Mute, anyone?

PF Penalty on Lawrence: Pure crap! As soft as I've seen. Let the men play...this isn't pee-wee football, for Simoni's sake!

Offense: First quarter was brutal, especially Weber's first pass which was nowhere near Stoudermire. Much improved in the second quarter. Glad to see the commitment to pound the ball to set up the pass (e.g., Weber-to-Decker). Have got to stop the Purdue pass rush - good grief. Either their DEs are awesome, or we're making them look awesome. UPDATE: Interception on Weber's pass over the top...not a good decision.

Defense: No pass rush from the front four = three straight 3rd down conversions for them in the 1st quarter. We have got to start getting more pressure up front, or else we're going to have to blitz leaving 1-on-1 coverage...and by the way Purdue was converting 3rd downs, our DBs were giving their receivers way too much room. How about some press coverage guys? Cooper has to make the tackle on the blitz - he ran right by the QB. UPDATE: Good pick and return b Campbell to set up the 2nd TD. Good for Lee.

Special teams: Average. Nothing untoward; nothing spectacular. Of note, Stoudermire particularly impressive on coverage. He's a stud!

Yeah, everything sounds about right. Our defense and offense played much better as the game went on though. There is something to be said for improvement.
