1993 Video of Win

Dear Lord, thank you for HD television.

Are those shoulder pads or ironing boards?

It is amazing how much smaller shoulder pads have become. I listened to that one on the radio. What a joy it was to listen to Ray.

Does anyone know where to find a box score for this game online (or other old Gopher games)?

I will never forget Rosga's interception. I was in the upper deck opposite end zone and couldn't have been further away, but it still looked amazing. I was at the game the year before in Madison and sat in the badger student section. When the team ran onto the field the students were throwing batteries and marsh mellows stuffed with coins at the team. That day in '92 I learned to really hate all things Wisconsin. They behave like idiots every game and then wonder why people despise them.

First time I was in Camp Randall was the '92 drubbing. I was in the 9th grade. I didn't like Wisconsin because of their hockey antics, but that was the day I REALLY came to hating Wisconsin.

I was also in the upper deck, endzone for the '93 game. Proably opposite endzone of you, gophermeister. I remember going to the Hardee's on 10th & University before the game because that's what you do before a game where the stadium is a dome off campus and you're in the 10th grade with your brother only 2 years older and your parents.....I've yet to decide if I miss that Hardees or not.

It is amazing how much smaller shoulder pads have become.

The new equipment is so light and so efficient that it has to be responsible for more head injuries. The game speeds up by a full step every 5 years.

Bring back the pads...bring back grass....slow it down.

Man, weird cheerleader uniforms too.

The 90s man.

I'd like to see the use of merit stickers on Minnesota helmets - I never realized that we had them in '93!

Wisconsin fans occupied about 1/3 of the stadium that day, maybe more. Most of them were located at one of the endzones opposite of the end I was sitting toward (the U of M student sections were so odd back then). What made me hate Wisconsin happened during that game. Apparently the U gave out little plastic U of M footballs to fans; I don't know the occasion, but I know I wasn't personally "fortunate" enough to get one myself, so not sure to whom or why they were given out; but unfortunately almost every one of the Wisconsin fans must have received one. When they scored their first TD, the S.O.B.'s in that end zone tossed all of those Gopher footballs onto the field in a total act of disrespect and mockery. It took the stadium crew several minutes of stopped gametime to clean up the mess those bunch of a-holes made.

After that, I never cheered so hard during a game in my life. When it was over, I was so amped up that I yelled at almost every Wisconsin fan as they left the dome, cursing, taunting, etc. I have hated those bunch of pompous pricks ever since.
