Minnesota offered Petersen, Haurbaugh & Belloti all said NO. I give Maturi credit for trying. People on this board don't seem to understand what Minnesota's perception is nationally cuz some of you act like we're Ohio State popular already...

Jerry Kill knows how to *WIN*. Recruiting? The man had NIU at what, 104th Nationally in Recruiting & still was able to win games...it's Northern Illinois people...NORTHERN ILLINOIS. We just had a guy who could recruit but couldn't coach worth a sh*t & we seen how different a team we looked in the last few weeks under someone with experience. Being from Illinois I watch a lot of NIU games...Kill can coach his ass off & I can't wait to see what he can do with Big Ten Level Talent...

Right on board with you Thaill, like usual. I agree, this was a great hire. Once you learn who coach Kill is, you realize this guy can coach, which is something we need here at MN. I am already looking forward to some upset wins next year, starting at USC.

+1 People seem to be warming up to Kill the more they check him out. The newspaper comment boards will probably always be negative, just because they are infested with trolls.

I was a bit disappointed because I wanted a bit more sizzle, but on second thought, I'll settle for a good steak.

This guy is motivated. I think he brings the best of Mason and Brewster (with the possible exception of recruiting saavy). Knowledge, identity, and enthusiasm are all here with Kill.

Funny that you mention that because I live in California right now & was with 2 USC WR's yesterday and we were talking football. I did not mention I was a Gopher Fan but casually brought up that game. They said and I quote "We smashed those clowns...they've been garbage for a while since that other guy who sent all those RB's to the league."

I asked if they played Minnesota first game of the season & casually mentioned the Jerry Kill hiring and they both gave a lot of praise (Kill tried to recruit Prater) & even said that we might be a problem in the Big Ten because & I quote "That muthaf*ckaz a beast with the X's & O's cuz Minnesota's talent was clearly there when we played them."

Kill's won at 4 different schools so far..wut other candidates could say that? Calhoun? No...Sumlin? Stop it...Mullen? HA! Even with Chris Petersen there was the "Dan Hawkins" Risk Card at play...

It seems that whenever someone speaks of Kill they do so in a positive light. I do not think that there is any dispute that this guy can coach and he could very well make MN a force in the B10 again.

Also, are you in LA?

One of my primary hopes is that Kill can take the talent that is there and make a winner out of it. I think Brew did have an ability to spot and recruit talent, he just did not know what to do with it.

This is hilarious, not really the content, just the conversation haha. This, and the fact that Jerry Kill even tried to recruit Prater is also amazing to me lol.

I swung by the airport, which is right on my way home, and stopped there for about a half-hour. Big deal. It was funny and it's not like I drove an hour out of my way or anything.
