Tubby just said on his show that they still have one player that is "working on some stuff" and we will know "his status" at the end of the week.

Congrats to all the other guys that got their work done and completed the semester. Hoping to congratulate this last player by the end of the week! :)

No one here has the inside on what is going on with the one player including me. Sorry but IMO Tubby is dropping the ball on this one. The player should be staying back home on road trips and not practicing until the work gets done. Assuming this is required work from the Fall semester why hasn't it been completed by now? Aren't there academic counselors assigned to the hoops squad to bird dog this kind of stuff?

How do you know he isn't already? We have some "red-shirts" on the team. Basically three of them.

IF one isn't eligible I would think it's probably a freshman that hasn't learned to manage his time well enough yet. Yeah, these kids have tons of help and you would think they would have to put forth a serious effort not to qualify, but, that's not always the case. My guess? Rodney. If so, and I hate to even say it because they are there to go to school, this wouldn't be a devastating loss until he gets his academic act together.

Congratulate?

Congratulate???

I'm the kind of person who hates to glorify mediocrity in today's world and this is a prime example. Simply doing well enough to stay on the basketball team is not an achievement of any kind.

If someone doesn't make it I'll be pissed. If everyone makes it on, I could care less.

Sounds like you're hard to please.

if this is williams, getting bad grades in your first semester is much worse to the program then being named a possible suspect by the rent a cop force known as umpd.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but even if a freshman gets below par grades their first semester, aren't they put on probation for a semester and still allowed to play?

For some reason, I was under the impression that there is a probation period or something of the sort for these players...

Players have to complete a minimum of hours with passing grades no matter what year they are.

Well I'm assuming Nolen has finished up his work since he was tweeting all night about playing Madden with Cobbs.

LOL Congrats on doing the bare minimum given opportunities beyond that of a normal student. Pat yourselves on the back for not being suspended pending a criminal investigation while you are at it. We are all so proud of you.

Why can't all our athletes partake in leisure activities like this? Spending time with teammates, enjoying some friendly competiveness. Mix in some pizza, maybe a couple cans of *ahem* soda...sounds like a great time to me!
