0-8 in a down Big 10?

ya know this group is actually playing pretty good team ball. you ca put me down saying that squad D and O both play better ball. we don't turn it over we win.

Coach Kill knows what he's doing. Aside from how we scheme our d-line (one day they will realize you have to keep the o-line off the backers...at this level of football) I have complete faith, you can't take short cuts just to win this season. This team is being built for a QB who can run and pass; we don't have that QB yet. We do but he is being red shirted. I'm a Shortel guy; this kid could be a big time QB in a traditional offense (please transfer you're being wasted) but this isn't that type of offense. Coach will correctly stay the course...he has to have his team ready for 2014.

What have you seen that makes you think Shortell, yes there are two l's, would be any more accurate in a "traditional" offense?
 


Let's not jump off a bridge. The Gophers need to win 2 games to get to a bowl. 7 wins is a possibility (though a stretch).

They'll lose to Wisconsin, Michigan & Nebraska

They'll beat Illinois. Beckman is unimpressive, and he's already lost his players.

They have a chance against Purdue and Michigan State. Hope not a coaching Titan either, and the game is in Minneapolis. Sparty's defense is stout, but their O-line has been a major disappointment. MSU not likely to blow anyone out the rest of the way with that O-line and a still developing QB.

So 7-5 is still possible, 6-6 definitely doable.
 

NW had 14pts off of turnovers. Should have been a pretty easy game for us but mistakes cost us big. I don't think we will be 0-8 at all. I don't see an unbeatable team in the B1G. There isn't any reason we can't put a couple of games together largely mistake free and capitalize on other teams mistakes. For the most part we played better than NW and just made critical errors. It will get better as the season goes on.

By the end of his (Wells) career....maybe by the end of this season my opinion may change but Kyle played to many games and was extremely productive against legit D1 teams to be leap frogged in 4 or 5 games. Remember Kyle had a 2 interception game also....in a bowl game if memory serves.

Kyle got worse and gunshy as his career went on. If his back had hands, he would've been a better tackler.
 

nice to see there are still some people posting here with common sense who don't fall into this silly sky is falling mold.
 

They are doing what a young team does, make mistakes and be inconsistant. But Coach Kill is doing what he said he would do, DO IT THE RIGHT WAY!! He redshirted kids that could have helped last yr. and is doing the same thing this yr. When you have an O-line that will lose no one and only 1 next yr. you know he is building. I said last yr. and still believe that we will be competitive next yr. and a contender in 2014. I hate to see the people that have no knowledge of what it takes to build a program from basically scratch and bad mouth someone who is doing what it takes.

See the dropping of UNC thread. People don't understand how to build a consistent winner. Do I want to see more BCS opponents...YES, but not until we are ready for it. Kill is building it the same way as Mason did. NOW, LET'S JUST HOPE WE DON'T SEE THE SAME SILLY MISTAKES MASON'S TEAMS MADE!!!! I don't think we will b/c Kill's all about fundamentals which, defensively speaking I haven't seen in my memory of 20+ years of Gopher fball!
